Yeah... it’s almost like what Blizzard did was entirely indefensible from any moral or ethical standpoint.

Literally covered in the last paragraph.
Notwithstanding that, doesn’t that make it pretty obvious that then perhaps Blizzard should have reacted in a different way?
Good on these young folks for having the courage of their convictions; too many pay lip service to the idea of being engaged, but never do a damned thing apart from hashtagging a popular idea.
Seriously, hell of a lot of respect for these people.
Also, because it cannot be said often enough, Fuck Blizzard in this…
Not to mention the walkout over at their studio in Irvine.
Reading this helps put this show into context in a way the trailers haven’t. Also I’m not sure that Watchmen is the best universe to set this in. Having a show that examines police vs racism vs terrorists should be a spiritual successor to something like the Wire not a sequel to a comic that featured a blue naked…
Sorry, I checked the google and I couldn’t find one place to buy weed between Louisiana and Dallas Texas. Also, even though the gang took the gun and there was no evidence connecting themes the crime, of course the guy they dumped at the hospital would just tell the whole story VS just insisting they were minding…
Suggestion - stop calling it “far-right” and just call it “right wing”. The guy’s manifesto isn’t any different from what a Fox News or right wing Twitter personality would say on a regular basis.
This is what we were saying back four years ago: Trump is the worst of all possible options and the ones who will suffer the most are minority groups. But white people were okay with that. Right and Left, white people just saw Trump as a means to their ends.
Good point, but you missed an important additional detail: Tencent, a Chinese mega-corporation (and as such basically an arm of the PRC government) owns 10% of Activision Blizzard - So it’s not just the mainland Chinese market they’re afraid of losing, their stock price would crater too if Tencent dumped their share.
I would bet there’s a team of PR flaks working tirelessly to compose a response, but at this point I think they know it’s too late for anything they say to hold any meaning.
Reverse Vampires, out in the daylight, because they are from Tan-sylvania.
Fox News: Pissing into the Wind with our Mouths open since 1996!
Wow. Never thought of it like that. Totally invalidates every single point. China is SO KEWL!
This shit doesn’t just smell fishy, it smells like a goddamn cannery. In one fell swoop, the Dallas PD gets to murder a key witness, set up a potential retrial for Killer Becky with the Elmer Fudd face and paint negroes as stupid.
In related news, Fox -a company willing to throw video games under the bus for gun violence instead of blaming lax gun control laws- caught wind of the Blizzard Hong Kong controversy and reported on it with the headline “Game Over For Democracy.”
The heavy-handedness of it feels like someone insisted that Blizzard make an example of Blitzchung, not only to discourage others from similar acts in the future but also to appease those upset by the outburst itself.
“I will not be a smiling face on camera that tacitly endorses this decision.”
I really like the way he put this.
That’s the thing, isn’t it? We all saw this coming. But so did the white supremacists and fascists. They were banking on it. The only people who were “fooled” were the wealthy elites who propped Trump up because they thought he would be great for their coffers, and could be reined in, as well as the centrist liberals…
The only surprise in there is that they canceled the Islamophobic gala. Normally they’d double down while asking the libs if they’re triggered.
