Agree. It was kind of my own venting. Never actually told anyone before...

I’m gonna disagree. She still had a choice and could have chosen to stop it then (and she even said she believed he would stop if she chose to stop him) or just gotten up and left.

Um, if you phrase it as a question, you’re kind of inviting opinions...

First, I’m sorry about what you went through. It wasn’t right, even if it wasn’t legally rape. What a shitty asshole. Same to any other women in similar, or worse, circumstances.

If you were intimidated into it, it WAS rape.

OK, I’m going to piss some people off.

Didn’t meant to refute/dispute you. Was only piling on.

So you are in favor of the ISIS approach and believe killing those with birth defects or difficulties is appropriate then? Is euthanasia the right medical intervention to avoid costing or inconveniencing society?

We can’t just start killing people just because of cost or convenience (IMO). We have LOTS of people dependent on society due to birth defects, disease, drugs, accidents, etc., but it is a slippery slope to decide to start terminating people based on cost and convenience.

The fetus/baby at this point would have a functional brain with regular brain activity, which is pretty much the accepted legal standard for being a legal person. You can no more just decide to kill it than you can decide to let a sick 3 month old die just because they need care to live.

Assuming it was consensual to start with. Who knows how bad her situation was?

Varies by state, but most that specify a time are 20-24 weeks. Most others, including TN, say “viability”. So the fact the baby lived indicates it was viable. At 6 mo, it also would have had sustained brainwave activity, which is a pretty well accepted legal standard for “living person” (which is what no doubt drives

This will get deleted, no doubt, like all my posts, but that makes it no less true or important to say.
