There’s this idea in this country that “college” is “what you need” in order to get a “good job” and that taking courses that might interest or enlighten you but don’t enhance your employability are useless and stupid. So we herd a lot of kids who really have no business going to college at all into

I think one can say last night’s was the best event in history because of the confluence of random circumstances (and isn’t that what makes sports great to begin with?), but the “beat the clock” drama really gives the entire contest a new dynamic. So, maybe future Derbies will have their own level of intrigue. Good on

I’m a millenial and tech-savvy, and I love greeting cards. There’s something about getting a card that someone selected, thought I would like, wrote a lovely message in, and mailed to me or gave to me in person. It means so much more than any FB message or e-mail ever could.

I do like this format a lot.

Pederson and Bryant are great additions, gives the country a chance to see these guys up close a bit more. Nice to see that this hasn’t become the NBA slam dunk contest where the big, big names bow out (Pujols and Fielder are pretty big names). Would have been fun to see/hear A Rod though...
