To this day I have only seen the first half of this film.

The thing is that JRPG seems to describe genre conventions more than geographic location at this point. There are games called JRPGs made outside of Japan, like Cosmic Star Heroine, and RPGs made in Japan that no one really calls JRPGs, like Dragon’s Dogma or Dark Souls.
Whenever anyone starts a “X was better in my day” argument, they always cherrypick the best things from that era, ignoring the forgotten garbage and mediocrity from that same era, while also only focusing on the garbage and mediocrity of the current era, while ignoring the good things.
IGN is so popular, that no one goes to their site anymore.

I think there needs to be some distance from the event to produce decent fiction from it. That seems to be the general rule, although there are exceptions, like Casablanca and The Great Dictator handling the rise of fascism pretty well as it was happening.
Part 6 has just been announced to be in production for the anime.
Eh, it would probably be terrible, but if you got the right person in charge of it, I could honestly see JoJo’s working. I’d be curious to see what, say, Edgar Wright, James Gunn, or Taika Waititi would do with the material. I think Phantom Blood wouldn’t be too hard to condense into a film in particular.
Just started Nier: Automata. So far it’s fine, but I don’t quite get the hype yet.
Despite being very flawed, I loved the first game. I put the sequel down in the second level because it was so soulless and frustrating.
Wait, Steam has restrictions on sexual content? If my queue is any sign, I haven’t seen any indications that they do, considering the amount of games I’ve clicked ignore on that are basically just porn.
I tried getting into sports, but the graphics were underwhelming and the controls were unintuitive. Plus there are no interesting characters, plot, or lore. Don’t know why this “sports” is such a hot new thing.
That was an error in the article. It was actually released for the Wii U.
If it kept more of the plot and had more similar gameplay I might agree with you, but other than some character and setting names and the initial setup of “man loses young daughter in creepy town infested with monsters after a car accident and sets out to try to find her” Shattered Memories has little in common in…
Phantasy Star I has an enhanced port on the Switch, actually. Haven’t tried it, but they added quality of life features like in-game dungeon maps.
Yeah, CT’s art style and gameplay wouldn’t really work in the Octopath engine. FFVI would look beautiful in that engine and art style, though, certainly.
As someone who knows way more about the Silent Hill franchise than I should for someone who has never played a single game in the franchise, that game is more of a reimagining than a remake. It takes the basic initial plot setup of the first game and takes it in a very different direction, and the gameplay is…
I think that it’s mainly the graphics and some people complained that the UI was bad. I haven’t played the Steam version, so I can’t speak to it personally. Having seen some screenshots though, I do feel that the SNES original had more charm in the graphics, but it’s hardly a game breaking issue.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door definitely. It’s a great game, and goes for ridiculously high prices used. Even a simple HD remaster on the Switch would be fine, as not much needs to be changed gameplay-wise. More people deserve access to this gem.
It’s more than a rumor. Hans Asperger did refer developmentally disabled children to a Nazi clinic where they were euthanized, and he joined some Nazi-affiliated medical organizations. Now, how much choice he had in the matter and whether he agreed with their ideologies or just did it to preserve his life and career…
