As a Texas resident, I would infinitely prefer McConaughey to Abbot. And I’m generally against celebrities trying to be politicians.

Oh, I’m well aware. I live in Texas. It’s just obviously horrifically stupid and immoral.
As far as I understand it, they severely lowered Zora Link’s swimming speed unless you’re using the magic barrier while moving, which also means moving at a decent clip consumes magic.
It’s possible that you knew more.
As a resident of Texas, I am truly baffled on how what they did here was even legal (I know that it is, but it shouldn’t be). If you’re not an essential business, (which a video game developer certainly isn’t) you should not be allowed to require your employees to work in a literal Federal Disaster Area.
The thing is, the situation in Texas dominated the news that week. It’s not like this was a situation that affected a small town and got little coverage. This was thousands of news articles, and while I don’t watch live news channels, was most likely heavily featured on them as well. Requiring their employees to keep…
I never played the original, so maybe I’d feel differently if I had, but the only boss that felt outright bad to me was Twinmold. The game is improved in most other aspects other than that and the swimming controls (which are still perfectly usable, just not as fun).
I love Minish Cap. It’s a top 3 favorite Zelda game for me. It’s a little short, but the overworld is great, the items are unique and creative, the shrinking was creatively used, it has some excellent dungeon design, and it is the best-looking 2D Zelda. I return to it on the Wii U every once in a while.
I haven’t played it, but from what I’ve heard the original Majora’s Mask does have some things that it did better than the remake, mainly better swimming controls and a better Twinmold fight that doesn’t take an eternity. The 3DS version does a lot of things better (especially allowing you to skip ahead to any hour),…
What was said was “pay attention in history class” which doesn’t mean “do extra work that isn’t required.” That’s not the argument that you made. You didn’t say “this is the sort of thing that everyone should look into on their own.” And the specific thing that we’re talking about is really specific. This isn’t…
You’re good. Yeah, if you add in the qualification that the person is shouting it, then it’s perfectly reasonable to assume that they are aware of it and know that it’s a slur, and I agree with pretty much everything that you just typed. I had thought that you were saying that no 29 year old would be ignorant of this,…
I’ve not seen The Godfather or Goodfellas, and I’m pretty sure that I’m not alone. I mean, I recognize that they’re famous, but I’ve never sat down and watched them. The only gangster films that I’ve seen are Pulp Fiction and The Irishman.
Read my comment again. I say that I think the fact that the word isn’t super commonly known makes it more likely that he’s an anti-Semite. I entirely agree with you that he knew what it meant. The one time that I’ve heard the word it was clear to me that it was a slur of some kind. I believe that he knew what it…
I actually did read Mockingbird. I forgot that that had slurs in it. Granted, I didn’t like it very much. That’s probably the only one that we read that had that sort of thing. I’m positive I never saw the k-word in anything, though, even the books that we read about the Holocaust.
I’ve never heard that word used in a history class that I’ve attended. In America at least, they never utter racial slurs in any context as part of the curriculum, or even play videos that say it.
I’m under 25, and didn’t hear it until 2016 in a video that documented the Charlottesville riot (it was being shouted by the rioters). I believe that the people saying they haven’t heard it before are being honest (you can still disagree with whatever point they’re trying to make, but that doesn’t make their personal…
I’m 24, and I didn’t hear it until I watched a video that chronicled the Charlottesville riots, in like 2016. I’m pretty sure that I’ve never heard it in a single movie or song. It’s completely believable to have not heard it before.
Yeah, most of these sports players have a morality clause in their contract that this would pretty clearly violate, wouldn’t it?
They probably have to formally do an investigation first just to cover their butts legally before they fired him. Kind of like even if someone shoots someone on live video, they’d still have to “investigate” a bit before bringing the suspect before a Grand Jury.
That’s not really taught anymore. Any book that uses racial slurs is going to be banned from schools now, no matter the context.
