It’s a PBS documentary about the idea of finding humor in the Holocaust. It interviews a number of comedians (including Brooks, who makes a similar statement to what he said above) and Holocaust survivors. It doesn’t take a yeah-or-nay position on the issue; it just presents a number of arguments from different

I have no problem with someone reminding a bunch of college students that dressing up as another race is a dick move.

Like, I could say “I think political correctness has gone too far” when talking about how the left shouldn’t ‘cancel’ activists who’ve done really important work because of something in their distant past or a technicality in their politics. But another person can say that same phrase to claim that he should be able

It is not consistently used to mean that. Frequently, it’s used by assholes to complain about the consequences of being an asshole.

Yeah, it’s soooo hard not to be an asshole.

I dunno, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask people not to wear racist Halloween costumes. I don’t know why that one keeps on being brought up as an instance of political correctness gone too far.

Warner Bros. released the South Park movie. In 1999, way before your claim of them requiring years of cache.

Right? I’m not a fan of South Park but Parker and Stone have had an insanely successful, award winning 20 year career on going further than Brooks ever did.

There was no mention of them being “alt-right cowards” - there was mention of how those who want to troll around the internet were inspired by twenty years of South Park’s “everyone/everything sucks” view of the world that leaks into much of the crap spewed out there - crap that even they recognized when discussing

Trump will sign this bill if it is placed in front of him. Trump will sign any piece of paper put in front of him. Trump likes proving he can sign his name.

good, glad he’s calling him out. he should maybe also start holding Democrats accountable. how many of the spineless dipshits who voted for the surprise $700 BILLION slush fund for the military a couple of days ago spent the past year touring MSNBC, CNN, town halls and talk shows to tell everyone that single-payer is

At present, the entire argument for the Graham-Cassidy bill is that if they don’t ram it down our throat in the next ten days, they can’t force it down our throat.

Alright, I’ve been dying to bring this up here since I spent way too long researching this yesterday after my rewatch of the series.

i used to get the print edition with the onion as well, and while i didnt post a lot, id check the site daily. now i may scroll over once a week or so, just since its still in my favs. but the layout is a joke, and the ability to follow a conversation in the comments is non existent, even with the chrome extension.

I can’t believe this place doesn’t have a “block user” option.

Thanks for your work to make this better. The site is still annoying. Garbage sponsored posts take up space while excellent features (A Very Special Episode, Together Again, etc.) are pushed off the home page, to say nothing of reviews getting the boot. There is a big old thread above of people talking about how they

Disqus’s blocking is pretty woeful (for a start it should be able to prevent the blockee from seeing your posts, so it’s really “muting”, not “blocking”) but it’s still better than what we have here.

Seriously, NOTHING improved with this migration. Not a single thing is better now than it was before.

“Just”

Would be nice if we were able to block some of the arseholes who have flooded the site since kinja arrived. All we have at the moment is the very inadequate flagging system.
