I sort of think he's been the opposite of a control freak the whole season? He has no problems accepting what Clara does, he voices his disagreement but doesn't pressure and the only thing he really gets mad about is her lying to him about it. And this also seems like a huge misrepresentation of what he stands for -

But what does it matter if Moffat episodes generally get a higher mark than they might deserve from Alasdair? If you read the actual reviews, he has never been afraid to criticize Moffat for the flaws that tend to come up in his episodes, sometimes rather harshly.

This implies that there is one correct way to feel about an episode and that reviews are supposed to be objective assessments of the show's qualities, both of which are stupid ideas.

I don't agree. There was no episode this season that was objectively terrible in a way that would invite general agreement about it. I did hate one episode, but I can see how people would enjoy its genre pastiche and guest actors enough that it would work for them.

Honestly, the entirety of your criticism seems to be just "people don't like the same episodes I do". I agree with the B for this episode. I agree with the B+ for Army of Ghosts too. I disagree with the episode that got the F grade, because I seem to be one of the few people who actually enjoyed it a lot. In the end,

Shhh, Doctor Who has had more than one reviewer here in the past.

I definitely do not agree with giving Time Heist anything better than a C, but I can see why a person would enjoy it and the review was good enough for me not to get mad about disagreeing with it.

This comment actually makes me like the episode more.

Boom Town and especially Turn Left (I will never understand a person who finds that anything less than one of the best episodes of Who) are both among the best episodes of their respective seasons, so I suspect you won't find a lot of agreement here. Hell, I even liked the central dramatic part of Dinosaurs, until

I liked this a lot, but also felt it didn't work as well as it could have for reasons that the main review has explained quite nicely.

I actually really enjoyed Charlotte going full on crazy in the first two episodes. No idea what Louise's deal is, though.

Pretty sure he has Victoria (partly) figured out. He's keeping up appearances at the conference because she has already successfully inserted herself into his narrative and he knows changing the story would hurt him.

I've learned to expect stupid things from David, so him actually having a plan and executing it pretty well kind of took me by surprise. Pretty excited to see what he does next. (Meanwhile, I would think Victoria to be smarter than borrowing money from Margaux and then expecting Daniel not to know about it)

1. Your usename is perfect.
2. Nope. Having Lydia show up and start shit is never a bad creative decision.

I fully expect Conrad to pop up sometime this season, though.

I kind of like both the David and Charlotte parts. The only way to make Charlotte work at this point is either to point and laugh at her or go all the way and make her batshit insane, She reminded me of peak Lydia these two episodes, only with more cocaine. As for David, certain weirdness is to be expected from a man

Holy shit! Finally watched the first two episodes and there is so much good I can even forgive all the awkward exposition in the first one (and there was so much it has got to be a new record or something). Even Jack's stupid cop plotline comes with a lot of naked locker room conversations! Charlotte goes full on

I don't think either Tennant or Smith were likeable all the time (especially Smith, who - while very happy-go-lucky - did some rather questionable stuff and could be extremely rude at times).

Time Heist was pretty bad, I agree. "Doctor Who pays uninventive tribute to heist movies while surrounded by plot device people and a plot from last season" just did not work at all.

A big part of why I put off watching season 7 by six months is because I could not deal with that title. My nerddom has limits, I guess :(
