He just has the most generic "tough action guy" look I've ever seen. It just goes to show you how important casting is with these kind of shows, because I'm imagining someone like Josh Holloway in that role, someone with actual, genuine charisma, and the show would be that much better.
I gave it two episodes, but the show is too oppressively mediocre. It can't be bothered to budge one inch out of the modern procedural bubble. The climax was almost beat-for-beat identical to the pilot.
Can we just give Bill Hader the Guest Star Emmy now? I was in tears midway through that 2nd heart attack scene.
