Yeah, if you liked any of those shows (30 Rock included), this is in the exact same wheelhouse. Honestly, in an alternate timeline, this show is anchoring NBC's Thursday night comedy lineup right now. B99 has been great since the pilot.

The reason Guardians of the Galaxy (a busy-looking space opera) worked, and Jupiter Ascending (a busy-looking space opera) didn't is for one reason and one reason alone: CHARACTERS.

Honestly, I don't miss Sara. I love what Lotz brought to the role physically, but her acting is very suspect.

That last part is what baffles me. If you knew you didn't give a shit about the movie and were just trying to dump it into theatres as quickly and quietly as possible, why on earth would you give it the saturation level of a major release? The theater count doesn't match the scale of the marketing.

The thing I can't figure out is why the hell Lionsgate let this go out with an R rating? The trailers gave it the feel of a borderline PG/PG-13 slapstick all ages comedy. They absolutely shot themselves in the foot by not cutting whatever they had to cut.

Yeahhhhh….. about that…. We're gonna need you to come in on Saturday and make up for all that lost time. Mmmmkayyy?

Few people can sell that kind of line with the buoyancy of an Eliie Kemper. So sold.
