Doesn’t matter what you’re speaking out about.... you break ToS you get punished by ToS, this is a bullshit article. She’s not being hushed up, she’s being told to clean up her language or find another platform. You’re not free to just say whatever you want once you click that little “I Accept these Terms” button.

Good. She is a hypocrite and a money grabber.

“Gone”? I mean, it’s pretty much always been this shit.

You right.

“it might light a fire under Bluehole to get their ass into gear and fix the million QoL issues with Battlegrounds.”

Getting “mad” because other developers follow the trends isn’t understandable at all. Instead of trying to fling mud they should be proving their own product better. If, as they believe, they are better because they were there first it should be a simple matter of making their game better and thus win the entire issue

Feels plausible? Hardly. It just has a more gritty paintjob - beyond that it is in no way more (or less) plausible.

I had to stop playing Pubg, even though I enjoyed it, because my Computer ran it so poorly. Nothing quite like having 50 fps drop to 10 right when you get into a firefight.

I’ve played both a lot. I like both, but i’m glad Fortnite exists. PUBG has been standing still for a long time now. Focusing on microtransactions seems greedy. They frankly needed a kick in the pants and some healthy competition.

One of the reasons I can’t get into PUBG. It’s still in early acces and its a bit buggy.

Also of note regarding Battlegrounds’ accessibility: it requires a lot more knowledge of military weaponry, and the UI is ugly, unintuitive, and just about as unoptimized as the rest of the game. (I’m still amazed the game’s main menu is just a glorified web browser running on an HTML backend.)

It CAN be complicated. But only if you want to be efficient. For your first time playing, play however you want.

Loot chests are enough for me to not want to play the game. I know others will feel differently, but I hate loot chests. I hate having all these resources you get and having to spend them on countless upgrades, or “lives” or what have you. I hate earning “packs” of cards that contain characters or moves. I hate these

I think you folks in the media need to be more critical of these types of predatory business practices. You understand that it’s controversial but seem to miss the reasoning behind that: It doesn’t matter if the loot boxes are optional, this a full priced game (not to mention special editions, DLC and season passes).

Jim Sterling has already clearly and perfectly (and repeaaaatedly) what are basically my exact opinions on the topic matter; for this, Forza, Destiny, etc. So I won’t reiterate again, but it’s seriously money grubbing bullshit

I think that’s what a lot of people will end up doing, honestly.

The fact that all this exists is just a huge turn off even if you don’t need to purchase boxes with real money. Why does a game like this need that many currencies? It just makes it feel cheap. I’m not even taking a principled stance on them, I understand the need to make money, this just feels like a freemium model

yikes
