Oh please Jason, we all know you’re the one delaying the Virtual Console on purpose.

Rime’s producer noted that Denuvo does affect performance. Severity is the biggest question at the moment. If running so many checks per second causes performance issues it’s worth considering if that protection is worth it or not, especially when it’s going to get cracked in a few weeks regardless.
Best advice I can give.
One thing that has always frustrated me about most fighting games, is the allusion of a story.
The trial is unlimited at the moment. If anything try that out. It’s a great Final Fantasy story with MMO mechanics added. The trial only takes you 35 if I remember, but it gives you enough of a taste to see if you want to invest. I think the combo for realm reborn and Heavansward is like 20 bucks
I came here to say that I really hate the whole “Games as a service” thing, because it’s a blatant lie on the part of the companies. No matter what, they will always treat their products as products, and more than that as exploitable products, because they can’t do anything else. MMOs, which have the best case for…

In the words of Yoko Taro, “Life is unfair.”
How does Denuvo hit non-pirates? I haven’t heard of any cases of it locking people out of their legitimate copies. The online authentication happens only once, on first-time startup after installation. Only issue I can think of is that it makes modding a game more difficult, but that’s not a Denuvo-unique attribute.…
my issue with Denuvo, outside of the unconfirmed reports of possible issues with certain SSDs back in its infancy, is the fact that smaller developers are so afraid of the piracy boogeyman that they’re willing to pay 5-6 figures for a copy protection that can’t even guarantee a full week without piracy. That money…
Penny Arcade fell flatter than a runovered mouse on a highway.
Well, remastering is a legit business model now, so you are going to be worried about porting to hardware five years beyond what you are working with currently. Not even sticking to console only will protect you from this, since half cycle hardware refreshes are a thing now, and might be the case that this is how…
Why not? It’s a free system that already gives you a consistent amount of ticks per second without having to build one yourself. When you’re trying to get a game out on a budget, you’re not worried about ports 5+ years later, so it’s not a primary concern.
Your article spoiled the game’s title for me. I wanted to go in COMPLETELY blind but now I know a single MINUTE detail and RUINED the experience. Fuk u Jason.
I’m cautiously optimistic but I’m also worried after seeing the trailer and reading about the game. Far Cry 4 was basically more of the same of what they did with FC 3 and Primal, at least for me, didn’t click despite the focus on survival/crafting. I like the fun that you can have in a FC game, especially when you’re…
So because they found the 1 idiot, everyone else has to suffer. Yep, classic.
Hmmm this got me thinking... how can Cons possibly check for real weapons vs fake props with all the cosplayers running around... It seems to be a legit security concern.
Loading times killed the new Mirror’s Edge for me. The first didn’t seem to have any particularly long loading times post-death, so you could keep your groove going as you run through the map trial-and-error style. But the sequel had such unbearably long loading screens that just a couple mistimed jumps would make me…
Shout out to BotW for it’s incredible load times after death. It’s not Super Meat Boy quick, but it’s a damn lot faster than Horizon, which I played directly before and died in equal measure.
Fuckin’ got ‘em.
