What would be the point to continue to breed the lines that were bred to race on a track if there are no more tracks? I had a rescue greyhound. He was a great guy. There are tons of dogs in shelters. Why purposely breed some more?

There are still AKC greyhounds, which are not much like the racers but they will still exist.
