I have 110,000 miles on my 2011 Golf TDI and never experienced one issue with it.

Such a waste. Why not just retrofit them all with 2.0T engines??? I’m sure they’d have to re-register them or whatever but seriously, why not?

I’d like to know what you think about the gear shift. It takes a strange combination of button presses and shifter movement and holding it for a few seconds to make it work. When I test drove it the salesman took 10 minutes to figure it out. I don’t understand why everyone wants to reinvent how shifters work. It’s a

The smaller version of this car was in Brazil (one of my favorite movies):

That’s an assumption that they won’t use it. I’d think having a huge, rigid, climate controlled building on Mars could be useful for many reasons. Remember the issues with fabric-based buildings in The Martian?.

8 months isn’t THAT long in space (current record is over 14). Yes they will need to go through some physical therapy when they land which isn’t ideal but not terrible.

I had a 2003 Matrix XRS. All the door seals fell off within a few days of ownership. Then a month later the wheel sensor stopped working which caused the ABS and speedometer and odometer to stop working. I considered not having it fixed because of the odometer part... That's a good way to defend the article but it's making an assumption about what the author was trying to say. The concept of a higher-level goal is not really introduced at all. The article describes specifically that the achievers are enjoying the activities that they are doing as they are doing them.

This is a very attractive theory but I wonder if it's too simplistic/idealistic. What about all the self-destructive loves that people have (food, drugs, etc...)? Also, if people only did what they loved there wouldn't be many janitors, sewage treatment plant employees, etc.

@Ravi, since he watches Hulu on TV instead of just his PC monitor then he's "cheating" too so if you want to play by the rules then you have to sacrifice that.

@Plynx, that's pretty philosophical. I think the reason people flock to TV is because it's a shared experience. Having shared experiences unify people and bring a sense of community that bridges a lot of social barriers.

@Drew how can you prove you are more intelligent, productive and happier than if you had access to television? Did you go to a parallel universe and interview your other self that had TV and calculate the results?

Between Hulu and BitTorrent I can watch everything I want EXCEPT for live sports :(

Get an indoor/outdoor thermometer and in the evening as soon as it is cooler outside open all the windows and doors (if you have screen doors) and turn on a few fans to get the air moving through. If you do that all night long and then close up in the morning when the thermometer shows it warmer outside and if you
