They’re not even first in first responder deaths. Most years EMTs are MURDERED more on the street than Police Officers. And they’re defenseless. To say nothing of firefighters that come damn near close, also sometimes beating officer deaths. But when you include retirement deaths from cancer and other occupation…

And 90% of those deaths are do to traffic accidents because they’re in their car so much. 

Interesting point, I never thought about that. Police is the 16th most dangerous job in the US according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Behind pilots, roofers, truck drivers, garbage men, farmers, iron workers, landscapers, Construction laborers, and agricultural workers.

Just call it what it is at this point, attempted murder. Who cares if it’s an actual ambush or not?

If LAPD finds the shooter and instead of jail time gives him 2 weeks paid suspension, then I’ll be as upset about this attack as I am about all the other shit. 

“Ambush” itself is a provocative term, and it sounds like there isn’t any more proof that it was an ambush than just a crime off opportunity. I think for it to technically be an ambush it would require the shooter concealing themselves and using that to their advantage to attack. It implies premeditation and planning.

I clean crime scenes for a living and have seen cops disparaging the dead, taking photos, messing with victim’s property, etc. This. Shit. Happens.

Ambush would imply that the shooter lured the cops there under false pretenses, then shot them. Dude just walked up and shot them both. To hear it from cops they’re trained to be “warriors” who are always ready for danger. Maybe they should’ve had more situational awareness \_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, an ambush sort of implies that the’re were multiple peoples elements, secrecy, and a level of sophistication that this clearly did not have.

I’ve been using quotes when I describe it as well. Can we really call one dude walking straight up to them in broad daylight an ambush?
