No... reward and bribe are NOT the same thing. In this context, a bribe is saying "if you do this, then you will get this". This changes the motivation of the behaviour (i.e. to get the bribe).

This isn't a bribe, it's a reward, and it's an excellent tool to use in parenting. As long as the reward comes on an infrequent schedule so the child doesn't learn "doing this = getting candy", then you're doing an awesome job :)

Reward is not the same as bribery.

If you need to bribe your child, it's just reflective of poor parenting skills in terms of discipline to begin with. I recommend every parent sit down and go through a marathon of Super Nanny episodes. It's easier said than done, but do your children a favour and actually learn to parent them properly.
