I wasn't suggesting they were bad traits at all. I was saying they are predominantly male traits. And yes, studies conclusively show that men are more likely to be assertive than women (in most cultures), and it is a desirable trait. In fact, in almost every single country, studies have found that almost all traits

And therein lies the problem... with exactly what you're saying. The thing is, a lot of the qualities desired in an employee are qualities that men have been groomed to have. Assertive, confident, able to sell/be convincing, good at negotiating, etc. This automatically puts women at a disadvantage, but not because

Well, by virtue of having a blind selection process, the in-person interviews would be limited to only the people who were qualified on paper. Then based on their stats, they would have to report to the gov't which ones they had hired (out of the ones who had made it through the blind process). There would have to

This shouldn't be allowed. You have to go through the process. If you can't make it through the blind process, then obviously you weren't "PERFECT" for the position, or someone else was more "PERFECT". Too bad for you.

Which is why there would be an in-person interview at the end. I recognize that meeting people in-person has its advantages.

This.

Excellent addition to my system :) I think us Jezzies could come up with a foolproof hiring process that prevents any of this discrimination.

I honestly think there should be a mandatory process that goes something like this:

Just find the link to the original article (the scientific results) and mass e-mail it. Hopefully those men people can put 2 and 2 together.

Neither do I.

OMG... the replies to your comment have had me in tears. Thank you for making my day. :)

It is shameful that the U.S. allows this shit to happen.

I have no idea who you're talking about. I am sure if this person you're referring to is as bad a "Dr." Phil, I would be as hateful toward him. But 1. we aren't talking about him, and 2. again... I don't know who you're talking about.

It's unfortunate because I think a lot of people believe he is, in fact, a licensed doctor. To me, this is fraud. You can't legally go around posing as a licensed professional when you aren't, and I think referring to yourself as "doctor" anything, or "officer" something is blatantly misleading people.

"Doctor" Phil is quite possibly one of the worst human beings on this planet. Who takes a psychologically fragile women, makes her feel enormously uncomfortable and unsupported in an effort to exploit her issues to make a buck. This man is so fucking sick. It amazes me that he is allowed to 1. present himself as a

Honestly, I don't see an issue with this. I think bikinis are just more practical - have you ever gone to the bathroom in a wet 1-piece? Or worse, taken kids to the bathroom when they are wearing a wet 1-piece? It turns into a 1 hour ordeal.

Arguably, it also supports violence toward your classmates. I personally don't feel comfortable with the notion of "hunting" other people. All you need is a Columbine-like minded child and you've got yourself a really sick scenario.

Nope. And I never said that.

If you don't identify with the group I am talking about, then why are you getting offended?

FYI - I am infertile and will never have natural children.
