The way the U.S. Constitution sets up voting and how the government is distributed virtually locks the U.S. political system into either Democrats or Republicans. There’s no weighted voting, no ranking voting, no if you get a certain percent you’ve got representation. Other political parties do exist, but they tend to

What an arid reply.

“I’m not running scared,” Trump told reporters. “I think I’m running angry.”

Bias is inherent in the system. The best journalists can do is stick as close to the facts (which are not the same as truth) as they can without opining. Opinions are inherently biased also, but that’s the point of opinion pieces--opinions. Unbiased will never happen. Knowing what the bias is, that’s a useful measure

Fair enough. I was just thinking about the size of the field in those races, which is usually under 20, vs. the normal 36-40 field. I, for one, enjoy the silliness that comes in those races.

You must adore the All Star race as well as The Clash, then.

No, I didn’t. People who sincerely want to be schooled will also say microaggressions in the process because they don’t know what not to say. What I’m saying is don’t question their sexuality or gender, not in any way. If someone wants to be called they/them, accept those pronouns and use them.

Excellent summation. Thank you!

I didn’t look closely enough, but yes, that’s the microaggression that gets aimed at a lot of non-binary people. Malicious abuser is a more accurate description than critical parties. The abusers can go fuck themselves six ways with a cactus about to hatch tarantulas. I might be opinionated about this topic.

Lots of alternative pronouns have been tried over the last several decades, but the choice that English speakers have fallen into is they/them for non-gendered, non-neutered pronouns. That’s how languages evolve. It’s very difficult to force something that isn’t organic into a language. That’s why the ze/zhe and all

Wrong kind of questioning. It’s understandable and acceptable to ask, “Why do you prefer to be called them?” What is completely unacceptable and downright cruel is to ask, “Why don’t you look like a them? Why not boy/girl/other? Why do you think you can ignore pronouns?” The first is a query for understanding. The

No, they/them are not binary pronouns. Many gender fluid, gender queer, and other people in the QUILTBAG communities prefer they/them so they don’t get caught in the binary of he/she. They/them could be any one of a number of genders, variable or not.

No, he doesn’t have to be convicted. Pardons have happened before the judicial system got highly involved. Nixon is the best example, but there are others, esp. under Bill Clinton.

You’re not wrong, esp. about who Rump appeals to the most. You’re also not right about why middle class white moms voted for Rump. It wasn’t just that they didn’t like H. Clinton. It’s that they didn’t pay attention to Rump.

My family moved from a 1500 sq. ft. house in the Kansas City ‘hood to a 3800 sq. ft. house in the northern suburbs. That was about a year and a half ago. You’ve done better at decorating and furnishing than we have. *grin* Congrats!

Yes, Niro, definitely. We love ours. My husband is 6'1" and he doesn’t have to put the driver’s seat back all the way. Inside is roomier than a SUV. We know that because we drove a Sorrento and hated it. You will love the gas mileage, too. As for the kid learning to drive? A hybrid doesn’t have the same petal motions,

That is a gorgeous green, and the only reason we didn’t get a green Kia Niro is that they had a more gorgeous blue.

Not going to let this battle be dictated by facts... Some things don’t change.

Right next to his mentors Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond.

And the Basque already knew about Newfoundland. That’s where they did all  their cod fishing.
