    I wasn’t being self-deprecating. Or helpful.

They should be at the TOP of the list.

“We have received many threats from racists in our community and around the world regarding our “white shaming” month.” That’s terrible. Despite the name hopefully it does do some good.

I always thought it kind of strange that we call non-white people “people of colour” because it implies that whiteness IS the default and having dark skin is strange. But looked at objectively, white people are the freaks of the human race. Not just white skin, but yellow and red hair? Blue and green eyes? Bizarre! We

I thought Salt Lake City, Utah was the whitest city?

My brother was so chill on his wedding day that his best man & groomsmen started trying to make him anxious & couldn’t do it. Best man lost his cumberband? Doesn’t matter. Car won’t start? We’ll take a cab to the church. The best man pretending to have lost the wedding rings finally got a reaction.

This! I have family who live in SLC and they complain about the air all the time. I don’t know how they stand it.

It was a The Walrus Talks event, about health. I didn’t know much about her beforehand and found her completely charming!

I remember wondering how one defines the greatest Canadian. The Canadian who most influenced Canada? The Canadian who most influenced the entire world? The person who best exemplified what we consider to be Canadian values? I though Pearson should have won as a combination of the three, but if you considered just 2

He won because people actually organized to vote him in, as a way of protesting cuts to health care.

His mother is an advocate for mental health awareness, her bipolar disorder first manifested when he was a toddler (and she was the prime minister’s wife) but she wasn’t diagnosed until he was grown.

I thought Pearson should have won that contest on who was the greatest Canadian of all time.

    History of? It’s ongoing!

I misspelled the name, it’s Xavier. Trudeau has two sons, Xavier (8) and Hadrien (2), and one daughter, Ella Grace (in between I think).

That’s what I meant but you put it better (and the sequence was indeed funny).

It’s true. When women take care of their children it’s parenting, when men do it’s babysitting. And women are just as guilty of this error as men, maybe more so.

Back in 2013 a guy saw him on an airplane and passed him a note asking him if he could beat Stephen Harper, and he passed back the note with “Just watch me” written on it. So no, he wouldn’t think you an idiot for thinking he would be PM, because he did too!

I love that our national animal is an overgrown rodent.

John Oliver made fun of him for being called emotionally intelligent in response to people saying he’s not as intellectually brilliant as his father. But emotional intelligence IS a good thing. And “not as intellectually brilliant as Pierre Elliot Trudeau” is not the same thing as dumb.

I’m reminded of this interview I saw with actor Daniel Radcliffe...he was asked about being a feminist and he said yes, I am, why does everyone keep asking me that, how many times do I have to say it, why is this a big deal?
