They made the grave mistake of charging people out the ass right away. You gotta reel them in, entice them with an addicting 10 minute gameplay loop, give em some FOMO, and THEN charge people out the ass
Were sorry. So super duper sorry we didn’t finish the game. Just the most sowwiest. In the future we’ll do better.
I’ve spent the last couple of months redoing the plumbing in my 1950s house and it has gone from a seemingly simple fix into a cascading nightmare of endless issues. Ok, so my water pressure to the shower is dribbling out because the water line is understandably filled with hard water mineral deposits. Just replace…
It’s all part of the plan. If you don’t think Ubisoft knew exactly what they’re doing, then it’s being naieve.
It’s 2020. Online games have been around since - effectively - 1998. EA, Ubisoft, etc. etc all complain about how hard “internet” is, but always force always-on/shared ecosystems down our throats.
Umm no.
What’s the most recent AAA game that didn’t have a disastrous launch?
So they... reached their breaking point?
See, many rich and powerful people have commuted crimes or said or done horribly offensive things. And with the invention of social media the general public is now capable of voicing their outrage about this. Many of these comedians have made jokes or statements about how it is wrong that the public is trying to hold…
I still cant get over the fact that you get an “allowance” every month.
“Hey, you’re really unhappy with our game, so here, pay us to still be unhappy but with a smaller group of people.”
Yeah, the by-invite/one subscriber must be present rule sucks. My dad and brother are playing, and it would be cool if we could have a private, persistent world to build in, but if that’s dependent on one of us firing up the instance every time it won’t work because we’re all on different schedules.
For comparison’s sake, Xbox Games Pass costs $10 a month ($15 bundled with Gold). Apple Arcade is $5, Playstation Now is $20 a month, EA Access is $5 a month, Origin Access is $5 a month, UPlay is $15.
This is just ESO Plus, but for Fallout 76.
Launching this the day before The Outer Worlds releases has to be intentional... but I’m not sure why they thought it was a good idea. They know they’re going to lose a lot of players i guess, but this hardly seems like the way to keep people playing.
They make an announcement that will effectively nuke any remaining faith anyone has in Fallout 76, and they do it on October 23rd... Coincidence? 🤔
I wish I had half the confidence of Fallout 76, misplaced though it may be.
Hey, there’re those “private servers” they touted before launch. This isn’t quite what I had in mind, though.
Do I laugh or do I cry?
