The general public just isn’t as fanatical about the inerrancy of abuse claims as particular media heavyweights have been. The accusations against George Takei and Aziz Ansari for instance just didn’t add up, and they rightly had strong defenders. I am very glad that this Scott Brunton turkey has been revealed as a

This is why I like Serena. She thinks she’s a benevolent hostess dispensing charity to a mischievous snake, and has a mini breakdown every time she is reminded of her own cruelty or the extreme subjugation that she bears some responsibility for bringing about. It’s a great and tortuous position for a character to be

Yeah I get that. The dystopian hellscape is just a little bit scarier when it’s been built by people who at least think they have some personal integrity. Fred is a moral wasteland.

I prefer my bloodlust revelling in chaos, not stuffed with ideological justification

“Though one does have to wonder if they’re the reason the film is airing on HBO rather than braving a theatrical release”

I have a strong reaction to this idea based on the experiences of people in my family. Putting verbal harassment in the same category as a crime like rape undermines and trivialises the rape victim more than it validates the victim of verbal harassment. We already act as if some victims are more worthy or more

I’m finding it hard to maintain a sense of anger in the face of continued reports of sexual harassment in showbusiness. It’s not that the claims aren’t troubling. It’s that I’ve grown to have an expectation that sexual harassment claims will surface. Instead of anger I feel a sad sense of inevitability.

The writers shouldn’t have had Commander Fred go full grab em by the pussy in the bedroom scene. The show would create a more complex world if it weren’t so afraid of properly complicating its own characters’ villainy or heroism. Scenes like that turn him into a pathetic sexual predator and an ideological phoney.

Delores giving Teddy an upgrade is such good news. She is an unstoppable force. He’s a pathetic robot.

Seriously what are they doing in the toxic swamp? Digging? I could ask after a million other season two head scratchers but it sounds like the rest of the comments section is in the same state of exasperation.

Ever since seeing Carrey in the Man on the Moon Netflix doco I’ve been waiting for his David Icke on Wogan moment. I’m starting to think that is expecting a little too much from him.

Seriously? “French people gonna be French”? Have you lived in France?

I think John Oliver deserves one week off skewering the United States

No, in 1988 I was a reptillian agent biding my time. 1989, now that’s when I became human.

I just don’t understand people who watch this show for any other reason than self harm. It’s a shrill, painfully stupid, bizarrely violent celebration of mediocrity. It sucked when it was first on, and it sucks today.

That’s what I read the first time. The husband gets cranky not only because his wife banged space Hamm but also because the whole thing was done on a film set being directed by Stanley Kubrick.

By far and away the strongest episode of the season so far. We actually saw some of this fancy war we’ve heard so much about. And like The Last Jedi, failure was the order of the day, truly the best condition for fictional characters to be in.

The Handmaid’s Tale doesn’t need to force its hand on the analogy with modern America like it has been doing in each episode so far of season two. I trusted that the circumstances of the world weren’t ridiculous when I began the show/re-read the novel after season one. Basic understanding of Taliban-era Afghanistan

Avatar the last airbender

I can’t stand this damn show but I can’t not watch it with devotion. What does that say about me? That I hate myself, probably.
