Yet again, just the stupidest, most cynical tone for absolutely no reason.

That Daily Beast article is pretty damning and specific, and a fucking rough read. Spears and Haddish being so dismissive of things that are clearly recorded on video and can be easily verified is really fucked up of them. Even if it was under the flimsy guise of a ‘comedy video’, I don’t see how anyone can see what

But those marginalized artists were just that, marginalized, in the 70s, so it’s therefore definite that everyone wouldn’t know of them in the time when they were doing their art. The only artistic touchstone really for these characters seems to be Warhol, who while he did great things to highlight queer artists, did

Nope, not in the least. There definitely is art in criticism, and even being a heavily opinionated critic can provide valuable insight...I mean, Pauline Kael was incredibly opinionated and is still one of the best film critics ever.

Genuine question: do you expect all characters in a piece of media to be virtuous and say the ‘right’ thing (right seen through the lens of 2022) in all situations? Do you think there’s no place for a character to be be wrong about something or say something crass or inappropriate?

I just can’t deal with reviews like this, ones that are so much more about the reviewer than the material. As an opinion piece, sure, but calling this a review is disingenuous.

Yeah there’s zero reason for it to be publicized, and Ari is even blatant about shoehorning the game angle for it.

Obviously it’s a great idea to jump in early on this horribly mismanaged company that imploded spectacularly once already!

Nobody really could buy it as long as Warner/DC is under the HBO/Discovery/whatever umbrella, as there’s no way they could release someone else’s IP.

I’d just keep your receipt on that deal, Matt, you never know when you’ll come to the Warner office and Zaslav will be selling the furniture and carpet to write off a few bucks in taxes.

That’s strange since he wasn’t in The Office

- You can only file a lawsuit against one entity. It’d be impossible to sue the entire video game industry

Of course, it’s not coming to Xbox’s Game Pass. That’d be a fracture of reality too far, as the game has not (and likely will never) been released on Xbox consoles

It’s coming back, yay!

It’s an incredibly, incredibly mild spoiler

It’s literally illustrated in the first scene of the first season that it takes place both before and after.

This was such a cool effect that I didn’t really start catching until the last half of this season. The ‘tape’ containing still frames of the upcoming episode (Kim at the airport in Waterworks, Saul/Jimmy baking bread in prison in Saul Gone) was such a masterful little easter egg that worked so well.

So you’re just asking questions about something that you haven’t been paying attention to?

She had showed up or had been referred to in the previous 2 episodes in that time period as well. Not really a spoiler.

The religious allegories are all right there and very few critics have seen that this is ultimately the core of the show. I thought this episode would have brought that all to the forefront of their mind, but it seems to still not register.
