I couldn't live without Dropbox for day-to-day things, but I have 8 computers and quite a few terabytes stored on my Crashplan, and that's what is really protecting me if one of my systems goes belly-up.

It's presumably Roundr, an app which makes all other apps appear to have rounded corners.

Some websites also pop up with a discount if you try and close the tab. Others may email you with a discount if you abandon your cart for a few days.

The Anker battery is the best purchase I made in all of 2013. Bought it originally for travel, but now use it at university as well. It's not particularly light, but makes up for it a million times over in capacity. I can keep my phone running purely on this for a whole week.

I much prefer Aviate. It's the only launcher that I've managed to get on with.

One of the first meals I cooked, I was making a very basic pasta with chicken in an alfredo (white) sauce, but I somehow messed up the sauce and it started burning on the bottom of the pan. It was truly awful, and I ended up having really dry chicken on a bed of over-cooked pasta... I think I've improved a little

I really like when people add obscure stuff like this to Wiki, so thank you! Not everything has to be about the History of France, or George Lucas' biography.

I've actually started my own Wiki page for a band. I was pretty surprised that they didn't have their own page so I spent half an hour putting something together. Haven't touched it since, but it's really cool to see how it has grown and evolved. (I'm pretty sure everything I wrote has since been changed, but it's

Wait?! Where's Denmark?

Blackbeard the pirate—who, full (awesome)disclosure, is a distant relative of mine.

I was invited to a party last month, held at a pretty high profile venue (as in there were soldiers at the gate). Unfortunately, I forgot to RSVP so was not on the guest list. Despite having no idea who was hosting the party, the soldiers let me in because I was polite, smartly dressed, and most importantly, acted

I do, but what recipes are you using? For a lot of the things IFTTT can do, I have apps that do it already.

The most I've spent is $5 on Pushover but I kind of regret that given how little I've really used it/needed it.

Ah no. Though you can do this in-app on some apps I think.

I have a problem where my notification volume (but not ringer volume) will regularly just drop to zero despite me not touching the phone. I've tried uninstalling any apps that may be causing it to happen but with no joy. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Problem is, very few companies have an IM system. There is a perception, at least in some firms, that instant messaging is what teenagers do, ergo it must be a waste of time/form of procrastination.

These might be common knowledge for people here, but I know a lot of people that don't know this:

Yes, I found this out when messing about with my code. Thanks!
