Lol you’re replying to my comment where I specifically gave an example where I rented a Home Depot truck asking if I’ve ever driven a Home Depot truck? Huh?

I own a home and no truck. One time I needed one (building a fence), so I rented a Home Depot truck for the day. I think the all-in cost for that was around $60 for the few hours we needed it and we absolutely loaded it up in the process.

Those airport trams operate in a closed environment and shut down & call for help if the slightest thing isn’t within operating parameters.

I’ve ridden on proof-of-concept autobus vehicles that would be considered level 4...

You miss having a Golf or Golf/Jetta wagon? This is what they’re called now, so get used to it.

They should cut to the chase and demand to speak with the FCC’s manager.

“The best” and “the one you can afford” are often not the same thing.

This used to be pretty common in our plow trucks at work. The whole fleet in our group was Navistar/International of various age, but emissions related limp issues were mostly confined to the trucks from 2007-2009 or so, without the newer DEF systems (but with the EGR and DPF systems). It didn’t seem to come up as

Cancel it once... shame on... you.

Theoretically the cars plugged in at night actually can be used to add storage to the grid to help with solar

I’ve always been partial to the third-gen Chevy, particularly in M1009 trim.

I agree you can get more for your money buying used, but the used market is on fire right now. So, the deals aren’t as good as they have been in the past.

Frankly, going to Twitter is usually a good way to get a response from an otherwise unresponsive company (assuming your account has enough visibility).

Agree, having owned a couple of DSG cars the manuals are better for stop n’ go. My wife’s S3 almost acts like it’s being punished when she’s stuck in traffic. I drive a manual Alltrack now, which has a super light and forgiving clutch - as good as I could ask for in traffic.

Yeah, manuals in traffic have never particularly bothered me and do afford some options for in-gear idling and such that you can’t do with an auto.

Look how well Deadspin turned out once they finally decided to stick to sports.

I don’t think we should be advocating to withhold medical care from anyone. However, I wouldn’t be against the possibility of denied insurance claims in situations where gross negligence can be proven.

Neutral: I think the last time I bought gas was April.

I have zero desire for any car where I have to fuck around with putting physical keys in locks.

If Starlink performs as advertised, they will probably be fine with or without the subsidy. It could turn into a money printer for SpaceX, assuming traditional telcos don’t find other barriers to entry for them.
