Oh, I agree with that. It says a lot about one’s priorities. And I also agree recommending it in the context of an article like this is not prudent at all.

Just as an anecdote, my wife diverced her ex when her son was about 8 years old... he just turned 18 a few months ago and I think she saw a total of 3 child support checks in that 10-year span.
I bought that same TCL 55" pictured in the article, and it fit just fine in the back of my small wagon.
The CUVs I’ve seen like the Q5, Cx-5 or others in that size range do nothing to improve on cargo carrying over the wagon. Really the only thing you get is a bit taller vehicle, and a little extra towing capacity. When mine is ready to be replaced, I’m hoping minivans are still a thing.
It’s definitely possible, but I’ve found that above 75MPH economy drops off quickly. On TDIs it never seemed to be as much of an issue.
Following this logic, maybe Elon is predicting Tesla will be out of business next year, and Model 3's will become collector items.
I think you’re underestimating the cooling capacity of most automotive A/C’s. While a typical window shaker might be 1/2 ton (~6000BTU), a car A/C system can be several tons of cooling.
Also, it seems silly but when they get in, they often have their tails still sticking out so I’d open the glass, reach in to help them get where they need to be, then shut the hatch THEN shut the glass.
Nah, just the standard black. It was hard enough finding one with a manual. I was lucky to find it in green, that was the color I was looking for.
If they had an alltrack with a TDI it would definitely be a better car.
Green ‘18 Alltrack 6MT. I’ve owned it about 15 months and it’s got 35k miles on it already. Wonderful road trip car.
I suspect some folks don’t understand how electricity works and assume that you’d be causing their device to charge more slowly.
Agreed. I’ve owned 3 Saab 900's with the front-hinged hood, and there were plenty of times I had to take the hood off just to get a better angle on the engine bay. I got pretty good at removing it without a helper.
We couldn’t “save” both the wagon and the manual at the same time, try as I might, I had to make a choice.
Well, judging from the responses, there are at least 10 people that own one.
Heck, even the Rivian pickups are doing 0-60 in 3 seconds. That’s pretty damn close to M5 territory.
I have a similar commute (depending which way I go/traffic) and about 28k per year. Same issues with car purchase decisions (although my wife has a more reasonable commute and does currently lease her car).
Find your soul mate, Homer.
The people rich enough to own this car are rich enough not to have to worry about pesky things like laws.
