I am also fond of having my cake and eating it too.

I don’t particularly want to get rid of my TDI right now, but if the choice is between a guaranteed amount now and questionable ability to sell later, I’ll take the cash.

Uncertainty mainly. It’s a five-figure asset that suddenly became a lot less liquid. Personally, I’m fine with driving my ‘13 TDI until the wheels fall off, but it’s a bit annoying knowing I basically have to take a bath on trade right now if I wanted/needed a different type of vehicle, like a truck or something, or

Jetblue basically got rid of the free bag when they introduced tiered fares, though. Now its $25 to check your first bag, or you can pay a higher fare (blue plus) and get a ‘free’ checked bag.

The BMW i3 is equipped with the SAE J1772 combo DC fast charge port (pictured), of which the top round part is for AC level 1 and 2 charging and the bottom two large pins are for DC fast charge. The Nissan Leaf and other Japanese EVs are equipped with CHAdeMO, which is Japan’s non-proprietary standard, which uses a

SAE J1772 is pretty universal, are there any EVs that don’t accept it?

Good info, thanks - the bottom line for me personally is my dishwasher is from the mid-90s and likely not energy star - it also can’t get the hard-packed grime so pre-rinse is often a necessary step for me. I’ve experimented with the machine and confirmed this necessity.

Anecdotally, I tend to disagree with that assertion, since dried-on food takes more effort to clean (regardless if it is being washed by human or robot).

Yes, but how much water is used to do it this way? How much energy (in heating said water, and the machine running longer)?

I would buy the hell out of an electric Ford Ranger.

The random patterns the Roomba makes in the carpet are somewhat entertaining, though. Plus, it keeps the dog and cat on their toes - they never know where to hide.

2008 here, only on my second battery (macbook pro). This thing refuses to die.

Darn, so my first-gen unibody (late 2008) MBP is not supported, then. Oh well, El Capitan runs great (as does win7) so I will probably get 10 years of useful life out of it, 8 of those spent running the latest software. Can’t really complain about that.

I updated my ipad 2 to iOS 9 a while ago and it actually runs passably (definitely quite slow by today’s standards, though). Still a great device for reading news on the john.

When do you use every last pony? Do you EVER keep your foot to the floor all the way through the rev range, bang it off the limiter before shifting?

If you put on a good audiobook or podcast and listen intently, you can emulate what it’s like to ride in an autonomous vehicle. I hardly remember even driving home if I’m focused on something like that. It’s wonderful.

See, but all you need to do is package a bunch of these loans into a bond and like magic the risk is all but gone!

Once you’re accountable for other people’s production you’re a manager. I don’t think you need to do a study to confirm that person can have more impact than a straight up engineer sitting at their desk doing production work all day.
