So, deceptive marketing is okey dokey. Got it.

Yes. You and I obviously both understand how they extrapolated the 22-year lamp life. You can't say as much about the buying public at large. Not by a long shot.

A Home Depot CFL lasts 10k hours and costs $3. Higher-end CFLs can last longer than that. Sure, a regular incandescent lamp might only have a thousand or so hour life, but my point was mainly that 25k hours is not that impressive for an LED product. You can get over 50k hours when the manufacturer uses high-quality

My point being it is deceptive to quote lifespans in decades when the manufacturer already quoted the lifespan, in hours, right on their literature.

Most people would buy longlife bulbs for lights they leave on a lot. For 24/7 that's only about 2.8 years. Even 8 hours a day and it still dies after less than 10 years.

Why do you keep saying that?

$1200 isn't bad, but how much are replacement "ink cartridges" and how often do you need to buy them?

Well, Violet Peacegate doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, but there you go.

Here's a handy image to illustrate what size living room and screen you need in order to really need to go with 4K.

Here's an image, stolen from an Ars Technica article, which illustrates your point graphically.

Nothing wrong with this. Kid looks to be about 7 or 8. That's the age I started on loaders as well. The front-end loader is really not that hard to run. Plus, as a little kid it is absolutely heaven to have that much power at your fingertips.

Heh, fair enough, but I was talking specifically about friends I have who live at sea level, and with whom I spent many a late night prior to moving to altitude. I have since gained an unfair advantage over them. Having the data points really solidifies my belief in this particular myth.
