Is it wrong that when I read this title my immediate answer was:

I think the big difference here is that games and IPs coming out of China are playing ball with the regulations and creating things to put hard stops on it. I certainly don’t know how well it works, but institutions have means and resources parents simply do not have access to beyond “I am your Mom and I say so”.

Hmmm I agree and also disagree. Skyrim didn’t create an entire genre; only “perfected” an existing one. Souls however started an entire genre of video game that has never been done before.
