This was a great read! I enjoy these longer deals on Jalopnik when they spring up.

Holy crap. Busting out the Wiimote steering wheel and sound effects KILLED me.

That’s not bad at all inside the car...very interesting. I hadn’t seen the SOLO brand anywhere.

I love me some white cars. What wheels are those? I’m not looking to go TOO crazy with stuff (for now...ask me in a year or two) but I want to do a couple things. That parrot install REALLY has me interested though.

That is VERY interesting. How was install on the Parrot system?

Tech is easy to upgrade?? All I want is for my iPhone to hook up and play music with the USB, but they haven’t put out a new adapter for the lightnings (I have a 2013 3.8 Genesis Coupe).

A little bit ago I was shopping new 2015 Veloster turbo’s with the awesome ‘get rid of the 15’s’ pricing. Then I saw a black 2013 Genesis R-Spec coupe with brown leather on the used lot....I didn’t go home with the Veloster, and I’ve been LOVING the Genesis ever since.

But it doesn’t seem like they’re even trying to compete.

Accent isn’t close to how the Genesis’ are. My 13’ coupe shocked the living hell out of me. I genuinely enjoy being there. Even the 2015 Veloster I was initially looking at is a major step up from a rental Accent.

I was dubious as well. Then I purchased my 2013 Genesis coupe and holy shit. These are quality, attractive, good cars. Even my super skeptic friend is floored.

#STANCEBRO because unholy god it would be miserable and hilarious. Can get them cheap, and can probably resale to another #STANCEBRO for same price just because you can attach articles and videos and say it’s famous.

Yeah I had a resonatorless straight piped camaro, then my MkV R32 with A Miltek exhaust that wasn’t toooo bad but could drone...I’m ready for MUCH more restrained than that.

Interesting. I may do that. But, then again, there all the way down at the bottom where I hardly go, and it gives Jalopnik or FA some income, so I'm mostly ok with it.

I’d have to hear the civic. I’ve never been a fan of the sound of smaller motors. V8’s and up...which is partially why this 6 in the Genesis was so surprising!

I’m debating if I want to put an exhaust on or not. How was the magnaflow? I don’t want anything extremely loud, and am concerned about droning in the cabin. I’m considering ARK or Borla, but just not sure.

Love the article...I have no idea what I’d do with a car in that situation. Sometimes when I’m bored I’ll see myself looking at 100 mile BRAND NEW 2006 Saabs, or the sort still on some GM lots.

I hear ya...I pushed it a little with getting this car, but I’ve been super happy..in my situation it was worth it...was going through (and am again) some crap.

I was in a civic (my last resort car between the Genesis and my old MkV R32)...so yeah..my insurance did jump a bit...and so did my fuel costs....WORTH IT.

My 2013 Hyundai Genesis v6 coupe. Not always, but sometimes, even under 1/4-1/2 throttle it just has a GREAT sound to it in cabin. I know it has one of those ‘sound tubes’ to channel some in...but it’s the tune that’s just plain surprising. Had my admittedly american V8 loving friend giggling in surprise and enjoyment.

Ohh I wonder if my 13 can. I remember skipping over the blink settings. They don’t call it triple blink, but something else....I’ll have to check once I’m out of work.
