Hey Alan, I think you have the Wirecutter's recommendations reversed. The CandyShell is actually their runner up, and the NGP is their favorite case (so far!).

I have Straight Talk for my Nexus 5. LTE and 3GB full speed data for less than $50/month. Not crazy about the coverage in Maine, but way better than TMO (no LTE or 4G) or Sprint. Now that Page Plus offers LTE, I may switch to them next year when I can grab a Droid Turbo on eBay.
