Not everyone who logs miles in an airplane is a billionaire jet-setter. A fair number of frequent fliers (myself included) are having their travel paid for by their employer. Increasing the cost of those flights isn’t going to reduce the amount that I travel, it’ll just increase the amount my company pays for that

Man o’ man, at the height of the ride sharing slash vehicle autonomy slash green marketing push, roughly five or so years ago, driverless ride sharing was going to not only stop climate change, but solve every societal ill.

Well, part of the question becomes who actually caused the cost overrun and delay. One of the issues with the F-35 wasn’t just issues with Lockheed delivering, but also with DoD constantly changing the requirements. In the end, it’s still usually nobody. Though there is a reason Northrop got the bomber contract

Exactly, the real death is BMW’s manual wagons. And the death of the 3-series as a driver’s car. And the death of attractive kidney grilles.

Did you just hear that? That crack that echoed like a gunshot through the mountains, scattering the birds?

Imma call bullshit on this.  The only pull a V6 Saturn had was from the tow truck pulling it.

SC resident whose buddy is a Lyft/Uber driver here. Not sure if it’s a regional or state law, but my buddy has a piece of paper with his license plate number printed out taped to his windshield right under his Uber and Lyft stickers as part of the requirement for being a rideshare driver. Not as official as an actual

Do you pump your own gas? If you do your steering wheel is probably gross. It never even occurred to me until I pumped gas one day and picked up someone’s nasty cologne all over my hands and it lingered all day even after washing my hands. That and my mechanic always manages to leave my steering wheel grubby.

I used to detail cars. It always amazed me when a steering wheel looked worn out, just to realize that it was just built-up hand gunge....

Note to self: Manufacturing plant swindles are way more profitable than band instrument swindles, monorail swindles, and even sports arena swindles.

A proper e46 successor. I know - technology marches on. But I have had an e46 330 ZHP, an e46 M3, a 135, and currently have an M235. All 6 MT. I actually still have the 135 too so I drive those side by side. There is zero question that the order of driving enjoyment goes from the e46’s forward in that list. And I

BMW took the lead in the Luxury market during the Bangle era, when everyone not buying their cars were complaining about the design direction.

I was about to get all upset when the Waymo car moved over into the bike lane, I thought it mistook that for the rightmost car lane. Then I saw that it was getting ready to turn right, and simply obeying the law.

This fella has seen some shit.

Mine would not be the most expensive car in the world, nor the most glamorous, nor even the most reliable. I’d need a sizeable budget to rust proof and repair it each year. Yes, it is, an El Camino:

15 years with me, and 28 years with my father before that. This one is definitely my forever car.

Even if they are totally unsafe, they’re also totally uncomfortable. Off the top of my head:

As the Internet Manager at a car dealership, I can only charge what a customer is willing to pay.
