"Don't fix it if it aint broken"... true; but really, you can't make the traditional cranks & chain/belt & cassettes drivetrain any better. This design is almost perfectly efficient, make the components lighter/stronger like Shimano, SRAM, and Campy have done over the years, but don't try to make an entire new system.

@Gary_7vn: Thank you, it really is a wonderful example of efficiency. Especially when tuned to the rider/bike. Like buying 180mm or 185mm crank arm lengths for bigger heavier tires (i.e. 29er)
