Actually it went through the Army Corps of Engineers. Or at least that was the group that they had been suing.

Definitely. I’m an attorney, and I can’t tell you how many times I get, “But I wanted to talk to a lawyer” on the phone or “I assume your boss is doing this hearing?” from my older, male opposing counsel in court.
The last pharmacy I worked at before my current job, I had a high school boy who worked part-time as an assistant. He was 16 and looked about 14.
It’s the primary reason why I hate looking younger than I am. Everyone tells me I’ll appreciate it when I’m much older, but at work it’s always made me feel like I’m not taken seriously.
I used to work for a govt. planning agency. One of the best private sector engineers we worked with was a 28 year old woman. Before a meeting I once heard a 60s-ish male attorney ask her what she did for the engineering firm. She replied, “I’m an engineer.” He replied (with a surprised tone) “Oh good for you!” I felt…
Well clearly someone liked some of my comments and followed me.
If she trespassed how is charging her with it violating her first amendment rights? The press doesn’t generally get access to privately controlled areas just by virtue of being reporters, that’s one of the reasons you have them occasionally taking jobs to get access.
My experience has been that this stupidity does not get better as I age.
As someone who looks years younger than my actual age, I get that - but people will always have fewer complaints or concerns about me because I’m male, so my ‘youth’ makes me exceptional rather than incapable. It’s really shocking how obvious the double standard is.
They’re all traitors. For far too long Republicans either pushed bullshit conspiracies or failed to denounce bullshit for political expediency.
Wait, you’re mad because this guy is giving money to Democrats who are running against the GOP guys, because the Democrats might be centrists?
statistics say that these people all have someone in their lives who’s been sexually assaulted. they don’t give a fuck.
Oh, but that was the shady beauty of her ‘apology’ the next day: “I shouldn’t have said half” quiiite obviously meant “ALL of those motherfuckers”, to those of us who hear her. She meant the detractors to interpret it as “OK, less than half”, but we know better. We hears ya, Hill!!
That’s the thing that’s been killing me too. I’ve been referencing this tweet, because it sums things up so well:
There was no shade in that letter.
My wife who is in PR recently told me that it changed and its only supposed to be one space. I now use three to make up for my family’s deficiency of spaces in the grammar universe.
As a lawyer, I can tell you I do it because I think it increases readability. And that’s important. (Note: Kinja might take them out, but I put two spaces after each period in this post).
It doesn’t just make me feel fancy, it makes me feel like I’ve actually ended the sentence. I can’t imagine writing without doing that.
I am a lawyer, and it drives me absolutely crazy when people use only one space after a period. I can ALWAYS TELL.
