Yes, if I recall, she even lived with the couple for awhile, as it was difficult to juggle her multiple jobs to pay her rent as her pregnancy progressed. But, also, Pauline was living with another woman, both of whom became somewhat surrogate parents to Mia.

I love all of these! Makes me wonder what kids these days are missing when they are glued to screens the entire time they are in the car.

I remember it differently - that Mia took her in and cared for her without question, and served as a substitute mother since Lexie felt she couldn’t turn to her own. Maybe that’s how I wanted it to be!  ;)
