…and his liege lord as well. But the Blackfish is called the Blackfish for a reason.

Institutionalized rape is better for Sansa than the eunuch?

Sansa is a child. She lived in Winterfell for most of her life, sheltered by the noble Ned Stark. She is ignorant, but that doesn't make her stupid or a horrible person.

I thought Sam was being weirdly chipper. He just watched his comrades kill each other and their leader. He's in the middle of nowhere with a girl who's recently given birth and a newborn. He sucks at fighting and has no survival skills. And there are ice demons everywhere.

Well, he hates Tyrion so he's always going to be harsher on him than on his siblings.

Yeah, it's just weird to imagine Tamzin Merchant as Daenerys now. Emilia owns the part.

I'm sure the Martells will come up again soon. Myrcella is in Dorne, after all.

Yeah, Eddard Stark is another character who (unlike guys like Jaime) doesn't spend a lot of time expressing himself in dialogue. Yet Sean bean managed to convey everything we need to know about Ned beautifully.

Jaime's slightly too long, not at all disgusted look at Brienne was enough.

I didn't think the fetus jars were that stupid. They had to show in one scene that a) Selyse is a fanatic b) that she's had many stillbirths and c) why Stannis doesn't sleep with her anymore.

Agreed. Merging Patchface with Shireen is an excellent idea. I hope they continue having her sing Patchy's prophetic songs. It will give attentive viewers a treat when they rewatch episodes.

Exactly. With two marriages, the Lannisters will have ties to two kingdoms in the realm: the North and the Reach. The North is the biggest kingdom and the Reach is the wealthiest (if you think Matt Yglesias is right: http://www.slate.com/blogs/….

@spinycreature:disqus Nope. In Westeros, daughters inherit before brothers, which means Sansa is Robb's heir (unless Talisa gives him a child).

Yeah, it was nice to see Sean Bean in the 'previously on' at the top of the episode.

Who do you think is scarier? Tywin Lannister or Cersei Lannister? Joffrey clearly doesn't care about what his mother wants, but I doubt he'll be able to defy his grandfather in the same way.

Compare Robb's choices with Dany's and Tywin's. Robb had to choose between doing what was right and doing what would most benefit him. Tywin doesn't care at all about doing what's right and is only concerned about making the Lannisters the biggest, baddest house in the realm. Even if this means making his children

I loved this moment. It added a new dimension to Bolton's personality, but still felt like a natural extension of his character. A very efficient scene.

Remember what Dany said to Missandei in the last episode?

It wasn't unrealistic or out of character—it was Shae playfully asserting power over Tyrion. He's desperately in love with her and she knows it.
