I hate to say it, but this is why big companies fail. You cannot protect your market so much as constantly adapt it. They let an overseas competitor eat their lunch on price and quality, and instead of innovating their way out, they just switch their manufacture to overseas as well, eroding both quality and goodwill.

The older Japanese games I played had a certain charm about them that transcended the anime vs non-anime and was just good, charming storytelling with meaningful NPC's. I say that as an anime fan.

That is really cool. I loved Windows 95, and 98, and I bootloaded XP for nostalgia. They were different gateways to my surfing and research, which as a student and writer come up frequently in front of a screen.
