There’s also the fact that someone could watch Rebel Moon twice

They may be a data company, but they also use these metrics as targets / goals for the quarter or year. Fudging things this way with some kind of barely facile logic (ie: according to statistics, 61% of viewers watch together) makes it easier to hit those targets.

I have, but it was a midnight showing of Priscilla Queen of the Desert at the Paramount in the mid 90s.

yeah 3 is REALLY brutal. i wonder if that was another reason they cut down on password sharing, so that they could also ‘massage’ the data like that. 2 birds one stone.

I wish I could agree, but I think there are numerous examples of people thinking they are more liked than they really are.

Fuck, Avatar has had more cultural impact that Rebel Moon.

Might’ve been the original title!

“Welcome to Grimdark PR! If you don’t like our films, you’re a nerd!”

He can run a grimdark PR firm.

Zack should quit his day job and become a PR flack. He's much better at that than making movies.

When people -but in this case a company - show their true colours; believe them. They obviously want to sell their wares to low-intelligent climate change deniers who prefer revisionist history. They would fit in well on X.

Not sure Dodge is in a position not to piss of half the population. Much of the appeal of the Challenger harkens back to an orange TV prop car with a giant Confederate flag named the General Lee...

Remember the Bushmaster ad that had people turning over their “man card” for various bullshit?

I bought an Ioniq 5 a few months ago. Our other car is a VW Golf Sportwagen (diesel manual wagon, which if it were brown would check all the Jalopnik points...).

I tried taking a drink every time the word “Brotherhood” was uttered and woke up in the ICU.

Marketing that chases away half the population is dumb.

The Harley Davidson business model.

The silver lining of this is that by making a car that will be repulsive to their current fan base because it’s not a Hemi V8, and then choosing to advertise it in a way that is repulsive to most people actually interested in EVs, they are setting themselves up for a third customer base: People super excited to buy a

I was genuinely kinda interested in the new Charger, and after this ad... man, I dunno. Even if he’s just spewing a bunch of crap that he doesn’t believe in to try and entice the MAGA crowd, it’ll still wind up basically making this the automotive form of a MAGA hat. I wouldn’t wanna been seen in one.

Finally, 99.9% pure cringe in a long format ad!
