Please don’t make me speak to Elon, much less put my lips near any part of him. Someone else can deliver the message.

The military budget is so bloated that this line item is basically negligible. I’m just glad that this is for rockets delivering supplies, rather than warheads.

I think the white/yellow looks better than mismatched yellow, but I am a strong asymmetry proponent. I think the heterochromia look is really good for cars and robots, and further lends itself to the duality of function you mentioned. Instead of yellowing the lens, I might go blue and differentiate further from the

They probably will, but they have to pretend that this is akin to banning personal vehicles first. It’s going to destroy them with how unreasonable it is, and then they will pretend that sales going up is because they have beaten impossible odds.

Note: this is mostly on hybrid forums. Other forums are not nearly as bad.

And hypermilers are exhausting on the forums. Someone mentions wanting tires that will reduce noise and you have a hypermiler telling them to just deal with the noise because they might take a 1% efficiency hit. People asking how to modify their car for convenience and hypermilers talking about removing the roof

With a hood that long, “mid” could be in front of the driver.

Beyond that, this is closer to alpha testing, except that it has been released to the public. They are still trying to program it to work in normal use cases, not just work out bugs discovered in edge cases.

I disagree with 5. If you can take up less space with the shifter, such as a dial shift, go for it, especially in CVTs. Button shift is not great, since it often takes up as much space as a short shifter, but anything that doesn’t at least have a manumatic can get rid of the lever.

Well, you are clearly going to continue to double down on rewards not being rewards if they don’t feel like a reward to you personally, so I don’t know what to tell you.

And drivers also do not understand that me turning my lights off and back on behind or in front of them is a signal to them. Or they do and they think it is something else, so they try to get away.

Let’s say I gave you a physical reward, but you did not value that reward. That does not mean it isn’t a reward.

That is certainly true. Social status is a motivator for many.

If the title is meaningless fluff (no additional responsibilities, no additional pay), it is a social reward. “Congratulations, you are now a Senior Director, which may improve your social status in the company without any cost to us,” is a reward, but it has no intrinsic value. It inherently plays on the gamification

The new job title is a reward, just a terrible one. It’s a lot like a videogame offering a title that attaches to your username. It signals some accomplishment to others, but actually provides little to no benefit.

Yeah, this looks too good to be true until you realize that the photos are that old. Not hard to take new photos, so I assume that current photos look much worse.

Misuse implies that it is different from the intended use. The teen driver may be a convenience (though not for any family I know, since it is generally less stressful to drive than to teach a young driver), but the FSD beta is offered as a convenience. Sure, they say that it still requires driver oversight, but it is

But, again, if I have a teen driver in the car, I am there to train the driver. I think we should have those testing the FSD there to train it, rather than offering the beta as a convenience feature. If you assume that every driver is hitting the report button (they aren’t), it still doesn’t provide the full context

brake lights are staying on

A year after the zero tolerance policy was enacted, the FAA’s latest data shows that the incidents have been more than halved.
