Pole Position. Not because it is particularly good, but because there was something about the arcade experience that seemed magical. You had two gears, high and low, a seemingly infinite number of other cars on the track, and you just raced until you were out of quarters. You didn’t try to win the series or anything.

Need For Speed Underground 2. Fake tuning, ridiculous mods, and just goofy fun. Not many racing games actually have you throwing speakers in the trunk or adding hydraulics to hop at the starting line.

Every time I drive to view the aurora borealis localized entirely to someone’s kitchen, I am gonna need that steamed ham holder.

And I just did some digging on that “study.” 58% of people voluntarily responding to a survey said that they do not know which results are ads. I suspect that people were unsure, perhaps assuming that ads could include SEO optimization or not looking at Google to see if they could see identifiers.

I think the main problem is that those targeted ads in the search results are usually relevant. I search Hyundai, the first result is Hyundai’s site marked as an ad. Carvana, I get Carvana and then Vroom as marked ads. Most of the ads are not links to press releases or articles that are actually ads.

While the sales/service advisor/mechanic divide is there, the mechanic who sees 3 Niros a year is going to have less experience with them than the one who sees 50. That said, not only could the sales staff know more by glancing at the manual, but just by actually driving the car or taking a couple walk-arounds they

I’m already tired of these concept cars that aren’t even about showcasing anything automotive. We aren’t anywhere near fully autonomous cars, much less vehicles that don’t even let you look out the windshield.

Knowing how these are trending, it will manage to have less cargo space and any frunk it has will somehow not even hold the charging cable correctly.

I’m glad you mentioned that. I accidentally skipped that paragraph because it was between two ads. Odd choice to go FWD on an electric at this point. I still might watch to see if they offer AWD at a reasonable price (and see whether the final product looks anything like these images).

I really like the Silverado in profile. From the front, less so (but it looks better than the gas version). The same is true of the Rivian (with those goofy headlights making it worse than the Chevy). The F150 looks okay from the front, to my eyes, but less so in profile. I’m surprised to say I might like this one

Yeah, but it is a direct shot at Ford, where you cannot get the Pro with the extended range. I am willing to pony up some extra money, but not 70k for the XLT with extended battery and the options package to go with it.

Yeah, I live in Idaho, where neither Kia dealer near me knew to plug in the PHEV or that it would drive differently on battery vs gas. Much less anything beyond that. So the forums are FAR more useful than the mechanics on my particular vehicle.

FTP is accurate and correct. Both because we utilize armed police in situations in which their presence is escalation and because the “good” cops are tainted by the corruption they are expected to ignore.

Two things:

Yeah, I’m on *one of* the Kia Niro forums. And I looked at a Hyundai Tucson forum while researching that vehicle. People tend to like vehicle-specific forums to discuss their vehicles and any problems they are having.

Idaho, too. PNW likes to be sure the one-way streets flow well.

Not only can you buy a cheap trailer, but trailer rentals are really cheap if you don’t want to store it and don’t use it all the time. Just be sure to inspect the trailer, because the rental places don’t pay as much attention to them.

Some of the best use cases for electric are for those who just use it for a commute and either have another vehicle or travel via other means for longer trips. It’s still a hard sell to get people to commit to longer electric trips and a smaller battery should mean more cars at cheaper prices for commuters. That said,

For the vast majority of vehicle problems most people will encounter, it’s pretty handy. It’s not gonna help much if you run into problems camping or offroading, but you’re probably going out more prepared in those situations, anyway (one would hope).

Well, that’s really gonna piss off his wife, then.
