As opposed to the privacy implications of that same data being reported to manufacturer and dealer without anyone else having the access to view said data?

Reading the headline: Huh, I wonder how that makes it easier for others to access the data.

I would think making the data more available would be the far simpler fix, but I guess disabling it for everyone is the more predictable corporate response.

I assume that the Tesla qualifies them to drive Uber Premium or Uber Black, which might make them more money. But it still seems like $300/week would be tough to recoup. Seems more likely to make Uber and Hertz more money.

Uber and Hertz are partnering to provide allegedly favorable rental rates (~$300 per week) to Uber drivers with high enough ratings, like some sort of promotional rate, rather than like having a company car. They will not actually be provided by Uber and, as far as I know, Uber still maintains that drivers are not

Yeah, a rotary shifter was my hope on this. The button shifter is the main thing I don’t care for on the Tucson, and I was hoping they would use a smallish space-saving dial on this instead.

I was really hoping they would announce the PHEV at the same time. They should really be showing off that and the regular hybrid, especially since they actually have more power.

You think they will reduce the asset limit from 1,000,000,000 to 1,000,000? And start including retirement accounts? I think it is far more likely they just increase the limits and carve out more exemptions until it is worthless.

Like I said, the estate tax is a direct counterexample. The estate minimum was actually increased to make it easier to dodge. Since this would be unlikely to hit large swaths of America, I would suspect they just raise the limits to avoid making the ultra-rich pay it, rather than expanding it to reach those less likely

And I just confirmed on their site: “*DEPEND OF THE DRIVER WEIGHT , ROAD CONDITION AND WEATHER , MAX SPEED AND RANGE WITH 2 BATTERIES”

Pretty sure it is with two, especially since you can’t even reach highway speeds without both.

The minimum of a billion in assets or 100 million in gains for each of 3 consecutive years is pretty high. I’m more concerned that they will hike those minimums, similar to the estate tax, than I am that they will lower them.

This is limited in scope and exempts retirement accounts, the main way most of us save. As for market effects, that has less to do with a tax and more to do with the market’s disconnect from reality. If stock price were an actual indicator of performance, this would have no real effect. Maybe we could stop seeing

Sales, in any form, relies not one the education of the salesperson, but on the ignorance of the customer.

For me, it is a sunroof/moonroof. Less headroom, more chance for leaks, and more heat brought in from the sun.

I was going too fast and skipped your opening paragraph. I was going to argue with you on auto-dimming mirrors, but then saw your heated seats comment, scrolled back up, and realized we are in agreement.

No new charging standard. The Bolt uses the CCS, which is pretty broadly accepted. No reason to think GM will change that.

Not really. The price I had gotten was good, but the car does not fit my needs. And I still have dealers who will order things at a discount for me.

It’s vanishingly rare that I have such an urgent need to fill up that I can’t go another 40 miles. But I am certainly gonna be extra careful if I ever pass through that area.

Got upgraded to an Outback once. The rest of the time, I have had the penalty box. Liked that Outback, though.
