While I generally agree, that isn’t always possible. For small towns and suburbs it can work pretty well. But for large suburbs and cities it becomes a numbers game.

Based upon what? Age is secondary to flight hours and pressurization cycles. If the old planes were properly stored and maintained, they’ll be fine. Not to mention the 200 is a known design with a great safety record.

Quite to the contrary - an older model plane that has been tried and tested, that mechanics are familiar with and pilots trust, is much safer than a plane that behaves unpredictably and is unfamiliar to those operating it.
