Dumb question but what do you think “autopilot” means? The origin of the word comes from airplanes. Did autopilot on airplanes do anything to slow down, speed up, descend, ascend? No. It is a system that keeps it flying the desired path at the desired speed.

You are discounting the fact that he basically applied a moneyball philosophy. A modern NFL team defense has sacrificed size over speed. I mean they are still huge, but you don’t have run stopping linebackers as much as those that could, if need be, drop back into a zone coverage scheme.

And that is ok (as someone who plays with my 10 year old son).  But Epic doesn’t KNOW your son is 8 or that mine is 10, So don’t publish his age, and you’re fine.

Again, in all of those cases there is no real-world monetary cost of dying. I didn’t read the book, but from everything it says, cashing out in the Oasis has a negative real world cost. Even if that cost is minimal (say its a 2020 equivalent of $5 to revive you account), how many times are you going to intentionally

Ok, now what if I told you that each time you were wrong, you had to pay $5 real world cash to try again?

I agree about the movie being pleasant enough, but you don’t cash out if you crash, you cash out if you die.  So when he pulls the girl off her bike the first time, her bike is trashed, but she didn’t cash out (and the bike is fixable).

So what you are saying is that if you are in a race with 20 cars, 19 of them immediately put it in reverse and intentionally plow into the wall behind them, allowing you to be the only one who runs the race?

I’m be surprised if some producers didn’t start buying their own contracts back themselves (more or less covering their positions) and ramp down projections as the market got soft before it fell off the cliff.

So you make a habit of driving into brick walls to see if they are in fact brick walls?

So which person is supposed to stop (and make no money) while the others continue to make the normal money.

So you must really have problems with North By Northwest in the list then, huh?

Normally I agree, but I liked this, if only because they put a link to the trailer for each on the each slide.  A slideshow where there is just a picture is annoying, but the ability to watch a trailer for any of these I was unfamiliar with was a great waste of 30 minutes for me.

That’s what they should have done.  The problem is they had to have made that decision 2 weeks ago.  And in reality, people wanted others to leave theirs in the ground, but not their oil.

I agree with the tomato paste. on being the best way to make my sauce thicker without hurting (and even enhancing the flavor profile) of homemade sauce.

Most kids shouldn’t wear a mask because most kids shouldn’t be within 10 feet of a person they are not distancing with.

I’ve never used the butter (just the bullion cube) and yeah, we’d put these on the top rack of a propane grill (i.e. the bun toaster rack) for up to an hour.

Exactly.  The bump in UI is the big get for those screwed.  The $1200 is just so the rest of us go out to eat or shop once its safe so the businesses have a reason to rehire everyone.

So you are complaining about this stimulus but you haven’t read about it?

You didn’t clarify how much he had saved (I know blue-collar workers that did ok because they never had kids etc.) I didn’t think he had $3M in a 401K.

On that side note, if Corona is actually a bat-originated virus (not lab like some rumors say) R&D groups need to start sequencing and testing various viruses found in semi-exotic animals/critters we shouldn’t eat so that measures can be made to kickstart a layer of protection should this all happen again in 2120
