That’s part of the role.  She is the contrarian view for basically everything. No matter who else is talking generally has a reasonable opinion.  They need someone to put the unreasonable, screw all people that aren’t born on 3rd base “View”.  Therefore, no matter the other speaker, Meghan is the only one to argue FOR

If VAR was applied like this (there was no need to delay the game further with having the ref review the offsides, and there was a need for the PK, as that is a judgement by the ref to make sure the call was within how the whistle was going that game) in all matches there would be far fewer complaints. I can say,

I think VAR worked properly here. On the disallowed goal, the English player was exactly as much offsides (more or less even) as the US was on their disallowed 3rd goal vs. France which wasn’t overturned by VAR. So VAR made a consistent ruling which is the best you can hope for (i.e. either both players were on-side

You didn’t say it was good, but you also said there were no downsides besides it being addictive, which is patently false.

While its certainly mysterious lets remember that 2.2M American’s visit the DR each year. 2.2M is the number of residents of Houston. If there was a single unexplained heart attack every 45 days in Houston (9 in a year) would we be wondering if the city of Houston was diseased?

Or if they lost their shaker of salt and the replacement was tainted.

They have also handed out amphetamines like they were PEZ when they need soldiers to stay awake. They have no care about the long term health impacts if it helps get the mission done.

Don’t underestimate the stupidity of people.  My wife is a health educator and the number of parents who complain when the schools confiscate a Juul is through the roof.  They all learned tobacco was bad, but never bothered to learn that nicotine was also not good for you.

What are you basing that on? Because I am basing the opposite view on scientific research.

Nope. The problem is that kids are overdosing on Nicotine. A single Juul cartridge has the nicotine of an entire pack of cigarettes. So yeah, your 10 puffs of a Juul is the same as 10 puffs off a cigarette, but because Juuls don’t require to be lit on fire, kids are taking far more puffs in the course of a day.

Yeah there is little to no data to support this. The issue, as others have pointed out that 99% of those beat the shift hits are going to be singles (since they don’t shift the outfielders as pull hitters will still hit fly balls to the opposite field than they will grounders).

If you don’t appreciate the content, then why are you trying to read the content illegally?

Maybe not on Deadspin, but putting an ad about buying a video game on Kotuka that is actually an ad, sure as hell does. So if they ever did have an ad (like maybe they have some deal with Stubhub and they wrote an “article” about seeing a game in person), GMG would put it on here no problem

1) Almost all of the Thai players play for professional clubs. Now I have no idea what a women’s player makes in a Thai women’s club league but this isn’t a bunch of amatuers.

Being rich is being able to have unsound financial practices. No one needs to have a beach house, and its never financially smart, but many have them because they can.

Its not part of the process. It IS the first process...

So then what would be the tiebreaker? You need something and there are no home or away games, and with draws being very common head-to-head is going to be really hard to sort out.  They play this tournament once every 4 years, so most of the best people in this sport can usually get 2 good shots (plus maybe a 3rd

If this was the 3rd game in group play, sure. But its was just the first. You have no clue how goal differential will play out. I mean what if Sweden drops 8 or 9 on Thailand on Sunday? If the US had called off the dogs at the 75 minute mark they could be even on the first tiebreaker...

No its just sound legal strategy. You sue everyone involved, and then the judge will sort out who does not have financial culpability. And you are actually suing the apartment building’s insurer not the apartment building itself, so its not like some poor landlord is on the hook for the legal fees.

You sir, clearly do not know my wife.
