The entire point of a strike is to drive away business so that management has an incentive to negotiate. So yes, technically using the services of a place of business is “crossing the line”.

If it was what it advertised/designed for (a side gig) then no. But its not really a side gig for many folks but their actual job. An actual job should be treated like such and if Uber et al is going to pretend otherwise, this is really their only weapon.

How did people plan road trips before the internet? How would you know where you should stop if there was no Yelp to recommend it?

Fair, but I do think there are different expectations to what happens out of the gate versus the final turn. Out of the gate you have horses spread 15-20 wide all trying to eventually get into what are more or less 4 lanes. So you are going to have horses trying to cut across “traffic”. Doesn’t make it any less safe

This was not their plan. But to assume that they weren’t going to react and pivot when consumers find a flaw in the business model was where the cord cutters screwed up.

That’s funny.  You think that they aren’t to charge you more than what you did if you had just kept your cable....

No. Its to protect the base runners (where there are 2 on base who can be forced out), not a lazy batter.

With a runner on first and less than 2 outs, yes. A lot of teams do this because they want someone who is used to making the turn at 2nd on a double play there to take the throw from the right side should that occur.

You need 1st and 2nd or bases loaded. The infield fly is to protect the runners not the batter. So if there are 2 runners who have to go back to the base then there is no way to not get screwed with a drop.

Fair point... now prove that this was the case since “just as likely” won’t be enough.

Disagree 100%. Being up at 4AM loses its appeal, but even now in my 40s if I find myself up after 2AM in NYC (a once every 3-4 years thing now) Pizza is still a highly-desired option.

Because there are incredibly few Mexicans in NYC. Just because they speak Spanish and have darker skin doesn’t mean a person from Puerto Rico or Brazil can make a good taco. There are 3.2M foreign-born people in NYC. 1.6M are from Latin America, but only 160K are from Mexico (5%). And this doesn’t count any Americans

Fair, but here’s a question. During a given hour on a Saturday how many people can play at the 2 free courts at the local park? 4? Over the course of 5 hours maybe 20 people get to play. In that same hour there are probably upwards of 70 people playing on the local muni golf course (A foresome teeing off every 15

So they have to be well to do to have a backyard, got it. That does sound like you need to own your own house, one with its own backyard. I’d call that being sound financially, wouldn’t you? How many kids who are living in the equivalent of government housing in the city of Toronto are making it to the NHL?

Tennis seems to be much more exclusive than golf. Also, I’d throw out hockey. Ice time anywhere where you can’t flood your backyard is prohibitively expensive.

Really?

Good points. To be fair I am old enough, and born lucky enough that my memories of student loans have faded where I can’t speak too intelligently of them (although give me 10 years and I’ll be there with my kids).

The Effective Tax Rate is BS.  That is why I do the taxes/income as my true “effective rate”.

Then I am at a loss. They didn’t change the SLI at all this year. So that has no impact to what changed for you if that is truly your only deduction. THe only possible change would be that you paid a lot more in principal than in interest (since the interest is what is deductible not the payment) but no loan would see

I’d disagree. I get a refund each year because that is the way I want it. I don’t want a large refund but I don’t want to have to find money in March. I mean the amount I get in terms of a refund is small enough that it wouldn’t be in a long term investment. So rather than earning 0.25% in a checking account that few
