Serves Germany right for fucking up the titles of so many American movies. Die Hard is “Strib Langsam” (Die Slowly, which sounds like one of those horrible “torture porn” movies like Saw). “Once Upon a Time in the West” is “Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod” (Play me the Song of Death, a title more fitting for a horror movie

It may be because of that stupid English title they gave Himmel über Berlin that they missed the point so hard and remade a philosophical essay about the nature of life and human existence into a schmaltzy love drama...

Now do TV shows:

Loki still wants control like a god, yes, but he’s still not an avatar of order. He (& Sylvie) are still gods of chaos, in contrast with Renslayer or all the Kangs (except maybe Victor) wanting order.

Sylvie talks about it a bit in the first season. She barely remembers any of it, and has been on the run from the TVA since she was a child. I don’t think she ever speaks to an inability to go home because it no longer exists or because it’s not safe, but it feels like the show makes a conscious effort to steer away

I think part of that may be the point? She was taken from her timeline so early, at such a young age, that that world is completely foreign and unknown. Who knows what was supposed to happen there? It's been pruned and eliminated from existence. Fucking tragic

I have two guesses as to what will come about from the end of this episode:

The series is a little too Earth centric really. Like aren’t all the TVA human?

If it turns out OB is a Kang variant and Ke Huy Quan becomes the new face of Phase 5 villainy, I wouldn’t be sad.

“search your soul” speech for Dox to see her evil ways and admit B-15 “has honor”, then completely reverse herself.

Yeah, the show could definitely stand to have a little more exploration of Sylvie’s Argardian-ness (or lack thereof). I don’t feel like they’ve given us any handle on what her world might have been like.

Their social media team is on point, too. The entire @officalloki Instagram page has gone dark and been replaced by a single post from Miss Minutes and a message that “Time’s up, Y’all.”

Loki still sees himself, first and foremost, as a god—a more benevolent one now, but still possessed of an inherent need for order or control.

REALLY curious where the show goes from here. That was a bold cliffhanger and also smart move letting the critics see up to this point.

Interesting point that maybe this “event” sends Timely through the multiverse as the many Kangs. Which... isn’t really necessary, because infinite Variants are already a thing. But hey, who knows.

I’m sorry, this episode was full of bad exposition and trite speeches.

That line Timely had about Miss Minutes “mocking” him when she was glitching out was gold.

I was feeling unenthused after episode 3, but holy shiiiiiit this was a ride with a ballsy af ending. Yeah, we “know” the characters will be okay, but we want the ride to be fucking fun. The way it was played out in the end, pure heroic everything, SLICE

Did you miss the bit of dialogue where OB states if they reboot the system, it will shut off the thingy that stops magic from working in the TVA? Both Loki and Sylvie shout “DO IT!” when they hear that.

Loki reflecting on Thor’s time on Earth was probably my favorite part of this episode. I really love that these shows allow the characters time to breath.
