It’s weird because we’ve seen that the TVA is enormous, at least the size of a large city, but maybe planet-sized? But it’s apparently all down to like, 10 people. What are all of the other TVA staff doing now that their job is basically irrelevant? Do they even know that?

Yeah there was definitely not enough (any?) smoking in the 70s or 80s scenes.

I was so excited to see him actually win a fight. I don’t think that’s happened since Dark World.

I’m glad it wasn’t just me. I was totally lost for most of this episode. I figured they must have cut a few key scenes out or something.

Nick Mohammed is arguably doing the best work of anyone in this episode

I appreciated how the show turned their love triangle on its head, remembering how strong-willed our Keeley can be. She may choose one or the other, but it’s not for us to know.

I guess Ted’s a moron then too.

Excellent summary of the finale and the show as a whole. This is about where I’ve landed too.

The show in general did some truly weird things around relationships and consent. They had not one but multiple bosses dating employees, and only one boss experienced consequences for it (and he only experienced consequences because he was the show’s villain and not because the show thinks that dating an employee is

“Old Trent is fine I guess. Read this book or don’t, I don’t care.”

My gripe with it is that it’s a boring way to tell a story. The psychic essentially functions as one of the writers, walking on stage and saying “This will happen to you this season! And this! And this!” In Ted Lasso, it was used to lampshade some of Rebecca’s less realistic plotlines so the audience would accept that

Sure, but is it realistic she’d be able to open up her own firm after working for one year in a PR job at a football club? That was literally her only PR experience up to that point, she was a model before that. But even if it made sense for the character, it made no sense for the plot to strand Keeley in her own

Yeah, I think the show is struggling a bit with its large ensemble cast, especially with two of the main characters being away from Richmond this season. Personally I would have preferred less of Keeley’s odd storyline and more of Nate’s. I’m still not sure why it was necessary for Keeley to leave Richmond and form

Random thoughts in no particular order:

There were so many callbacks this episode. Just a few that I noticed:

Yes it was rehab.

Yeah, everyone is complaining about Nate’s departure from West Ham happening offscreen, but I think it’s pretty clear the writers are doing that because there’s something they’re withholding about his resignation. And I think it has something to do with Rupert’s workplace misconduct.

Isaac wasn’t upset Colin didn’t come out to the team, he was upset he didn’t come out to him specifically. They’re best friends.

Most of us are hate-reading these reviews, so I guess it all balances out. From hate reviewer to hate reader, what a wonderful circle AVClub has created!

In episode 2.09 of Ted Lasso, Beard was riding a winged appaloosa onto the football pitch. Yet in the very next scene he is clearly atop a winged arabian. Please to explain it.
