Nerds are the information seeking/breaking stuff to see if they can put stuff back together types. They typically read everything and have a lot of knowledge about a lot of (sometimes obscure) things. Geeks on the other hand, are experts in their fields comics, computers, etc. Nerds can be geeks.
The biggest thing I learned from having overly-strict Nigerian parents was to not get caught when I wanted to do ish that they didn't want me to do. Overall, I made good decisions for a teenager but they do not know half the nonsense that I did do under their roof.
