The bottom line is that ranked voting let’s you vote for who you actually want in office, not just the safe option candidate that opposes the candidate you despise. Being able to choose Conscience over Fear is a pretty good upgrade.

Ranked choice voting should include a “none of the above” choice. If “none of the above” ends up with a majority, then the election is rerun with none of the candidates on the ballot eligible.

There are legitimate concerns and ethical questions about “gain of function” experiments. Some scientific and technological experiments are less about actually advancing the human race. More about hubristic curiosity. There is a thread of a point there.
