That is not an unreasonable stance. I think key is consistency. If punishment varies based on team+player likeability, popularity, power of team owner, popularity of punishment etc, no wonder people get confused. People will crib in any case but if NFL says something like suspension when there is a ongoing legal case

Absolutely! The original Spiderman trilogy is meh now, with only the 2nd one holding up a little. Tobey Maguire is too whiny to be a good Spiderman.

Bears played like a team which believed that only missing piece was a reliable kicker... and fixed only that. Nagy should have focused more on his overall offense instead of running a kickers soap opera. I think Robinson (and to an extent Montogomery) were the only consistently functional pieces last night.

I agree. It feels like Watson has more spectacular games than Trubisky has decent passes. That 2017 5-6 games stretch (before he got hurt) was more electric than Mahomes’ with 25% of Chiefs’ offensive weapons.

do the regular work of a player, like attending meetings, medical appointments, abstaining from punching the GM, that kind of stuff.

I estimate 73% of all NFL decisions are made with the rationale - it’d hurt the Pats. Remaining 27% are decided by a coin toss.

None of this was news before Raiders signed him. I doubt they gave him $30 million in guarantees for his team first mentality. Now, having done that, it is crazy to wave a red flag in front of him with a $50k fine. Mayock is not in control here... that ship sailed a long time back.

Envy, I guess.

Never knew Nick Foles had a shrine in England!

I would go to war* if anyone fined me 0.3% of my salary for whatever reason.

Meh. I think Drew peaked early this year. I think Chargers one was the best.

And only one of these guys went to super bowl in his first three years in the league.

Not buying this. Cowboys caved in under the pressure. They are not Rams/Chiefs/Saints who can afford to lose some games and be reasonably placed for playoffs. Most likely they are going to be in a big fight just to win their division. They had to cave once they realized Elliott would likely hold out for games.

on your hands. … I’ve got nothing but respect for Dan and what he can get done there in Washington. He’s a visionary.

Come on! Grippy is obviously a Saints fan finagling another opportunity to whine.

This was kind of weak. Rams can’t suck that much if their WYTS is based just on one game. Good to see that all 5 Rams fans wrote in though.

“So, are you guys even going to try to win a game this year?”

...unless he lights the training facility on fire...

You are so right. Dolphins, Texans and Lions were model NFL franchises before Flores, O’Brien and Patricia turned up.

Texans’ fans are lucky JJ is white.
