Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks, I don’t care if I never shoot back!
He shoots, he scores! OH BABY!
Goddamnit!
Got her right in Herzog!
Fun fact, it takes far less energy to throw stuff out of the solar system than it does to throw that same stuff into the sun. Earth orbits the sun at about 31km/sec. Only need about 18km/sec to leave the solar system entirely.
Much better explanation than mine. Hat tip!
No. Insurance is offsetting risk. Health risk: Something bad happens and you are liable for $100,000 in costs to save your life. Outcome: Bankruptcy or death. Offset. Health insurance, which costs less than $100K a year. You trade the unknown risk (cost of health care from an unpredictable incidient) for a known cost…
I think there’s a difference between ‘refusing to play a game for free when your upside is none and downside is all yours’ and ‘refusing to play a game that you’re being paid to play.’ Plus, as an upcoming UFA, do you really want other teams thinking you’re going to quit on them?
Go look at the various Chicago Bears sites after the 1st round of the 2013 draft and see how they all went full meatball after Emery picked a guy who’d played one year in college. It was the worst pick in the world.
IIRC, it’ll be the third. He does them in record order, worst to first.
He also has a real injury problem. He’s older, slower, and pretty much beat up. Would I rather have 16 games of Cutty than our current QBs? Sure...but you’re much more likely to get 8 games of Cutty and 8 games of the backup.
This is one of the few bright spots I see. Damn few college QBs have any clue about the pro game. They’re taught an almost completely different game. Plus, they’re simply not ready for how fast NFL players are compared to college players.
Then again, the Blackhawks using #OneGoal is entertaining. I’m sure the entire division is happy to help them get one goal.
Overpaid for Glennon? Nope, okay-to-bad FA QBs are getting $15M a year. Overpaid for Trubinsky? Yeah, my problem isn’t the pick, it’s the cost to move up - though, by most draft-pick value boards, the Bears paid exactly what they should have for moving from #3 to #2.
18.5M Guaranteed, and the cap hit in 2018 is $2.5M if they cut him. They have plenty of cap room this year. It’s a one year rental, exactly the contract you’d sign for a probably ok at best QB in the league to hold the spot until you can find something better, and if by some miracle Glennon turns out to be good?…
There are many skills a GM would find useful. Picking the right players is obvious, but getting more picks is also a good one. However, in terms of value? Most of the pick-value charts have this as a pretty even swap.
I thought the kids all just said “delete your account” now. “Unsubscribe” seems just so...1990s.
You know, if that’s the cost? No Super Bowl Shuffle?
Hate to mention the name, but Tom Brady was not considered as a great QB in college, and his measurables were pretty low. While he technically started every game his last two years, he only played the first quarter, then Drew Henson (then a freshman/sophmore) played the second and the coach would pick one of them at…
