“I know there has been a lot of talk about actors not being responsible for checking their firearms, but I don’t think any actor should be handed a functioning gun without having the training necessary to at least confidently and safely check the ammunition that’s about to be shot.”

OK, let’s go with other examples.  Should the actor check pyrotechnics that are going to go off in the background? The condition of a car he’s going to be driving? The safety harness for a stunt? Granted if I’m an actor I probably WANT to know how to check for 100% gun safety, but how many movies has Baldwin made

Safety rules require that if an actor does open the gun, it has to go back to the armorer. No one on set wants a non-expert ‘checking’ the paid expert’s job.

Baldwin might be partially responsible for the unsafe set as a whole, but he is not fucking responsible for not checking up on the armorer. That was the AD’s job

I disagree completely.

this is one of those “you the real MVP” type comments.

It really is worth noting that, even though it was clearly breaking news and not all the information was available at the time, the coverage on Thursday night seemed to be akin to, “Alec Baldwin shoots woman on set of film” with his face plastered on every news outlet. No indication of whether or not it was a horrible

At which point did I say a single transphobic thing? And I did not cherry pick this either. It was part of her speech. A part the AV club purposely omitted. She also said Misogyny is violence. Which is odd coming from a gender neutral and not a fact but oh well.

So parasocial Mulaney-Munn bad, parasocial fucked up Spears family fair game?

Divorce is a human tragedy? Really? Usually it’s not it’s just normal life

Not quite the same, but I had a miscarriage earlier this year and have zero feelings about it. I’ve probed my subconscious, talked to my therapist, but I’m fine with it. It was an unplanned pregnancy with a guy I’d been dating for about two months and who I broke up with just after the miscarriage happened but before

I instantly stop listening to anyone who puts ‘The Shining’ (or Rosemary’s Baby) on a list of great horror movies. They have got to be THE most over rated and boring films i’ve ever seen.

I work with kids and I try never, ever to comment on the looks of the girls, unless it’s something like “what a pretty dress, you made a good choice this morning!” It’s so ingrained in us though. I’m super conscious about it but occasionally I’ve slipped up.

Bring back Gunne Sax!

I had to ask my mother the other day to stop commenting on my (5 y.o.) daughter’s weight, even though the comments are meant to be good or encouraging. Thanks, she doesn’t need to know you’re constantly judging her weight or figure, even when the appraisal is positive.

Gonna break rank with a lot of friends here but this shit is stupid. I watched the special. I didn’t agree with everything he said but what was said was not said with hate or malice. It was stand up.

Please. The same folks out for his head are the same ones who:

They’re absolutely right to defend this on free speech grounds. It’s scary how the art of not watching something you don’t want to watch has all but disappeared and sometimes it feels like we’ve reached a turning point where the left are calling for huge corporations to police speech. The special shouldn’t be taken

I work and live in queer spaces in an industry that is largely populated with LGTBQIA professionals. I make money and get my training from within queer social spaces. People spontaneously identify me as not fitting into normal gender expectations.

As long as Adele can still sing, I’m not really all that interested in the “journeys”. Whatever helps you belt out the tunes, dear.
